I would be concerned about the "folate" he adds, because as far as I know this is folic acid and not folate. Major difference and the artifical one (folic acid) seems to be related to a lot of health problems and when you do this as a pregnant woman, it can destroy your kids health.
Like every supplement in general. Whey was before pig feed and then it was turned into a lot of profit. And so on and so on.

I'm amazed his cholesterol isn't even higher.
It wouldn't surprise me to learn he was secretly taking statins or not actually eating the diet he espouses...

The fact that he's gone for the OTT lipid assessment is because he's clutching at straws - ... doubtless peeved that all sizes of LDL are "(H)" -
In the UK, ApoB is the gold standard the health service doesn't pay for until you have been flagged as at risk.

A shame we don't have his age and blood pressure to plug into QRISK or similar calculator.
Number one "supplement" on a non-plant diet would likely be statins and blood pressure meds... unless you're taking advice from grifters like Berry ...

Nurse John Campbell recently did a show with the quack cardiologist Mercola where they lied about everything to do with cholesterol ... - Susan Oliver calculated his QRISK to be well over 20 percent - where the EU threshold for concern is 10 percent...

So you do take daily supplents then? 90% of Americans have really bad diets so it is no surprise that 40% of them take supplements. I for one don't want to rely on a chemical factory to supply me with 'food'.

Ответить
@MrCalyho

But I don't get your argument. You say you don't need supplements and then the rest of the video defends taking supplements? You do realise that you are putting vegan diet in the same category of the bad diets that require supplements right?

Life is an Illusion. Restrict your Dietary Choices and we have Abundance. Eat whatever you want and we have Scarcity.

Ответить
@JRawRose
@JRawRose - 06.12.2024 21:21

“We must raise our understanding of our lifestyle to a plane where it will challenge us to realize that there is such a thing as an abundant life; a life that causes us to accept the restrictions, gladly and willingly, not because they are restrictions, but because they are a part of the means by which the higher and more abundant life is achieved.” -Herbert Shelton

“If I have a message for you, as a health seeker, it is a message of hope and joy and respect and love - for yourself. There is a special glow and vibrancy about good health. It is not simply freedom from disease. As you change your way of life, you begin to perceive through your own personal encounters, rather than through what you were taught. You see, smell, touch, taste, and hear with greater sensitivity. You begin to realize how very beautiful you are, and you feel and become an integral part of the ecological process and the human experience – a vital part of the universe. Slowly, you evolve into an aware human being!” -Herbert Shelton

So the key to an Abundant Life is through our Dietary Restrictions.

Life is an Illusion - our Unlimited Food Choices create Scarcity, whereas; our Limited Food Choices create Abundance.

When our Food Choices are Unlimited, our Life becomes Limited.

Eating Biophotons and our Species Specific Diet creates Abundance.

Not Eating Biophotons and our Species Specific Diet creates Scarcity.

Not Eating Cooked Food creates Abundance.

Eating Cooked Food creates Scarcity.

I can’t remember who said it, but people love to hear good news about their bad habits. “I lost weight eating carnivore, therefore bacon is healthy!” You could get the same result by eating nothing but potatoes. That doesn’t mean It’s a diet i would suggest for the long-term. And at least the potato diet would give you better blood markers…

Is no one going to talk about Dr. Ken Berry's obvious Steroid Cycle....
Like Joe Rogan, who is also on steroids, the steroid don't make you smarter, depending on the roids, it'll get you more testosterone, which may aid in lean mass gain, or it'll target other hormone related thing, and medically they're used to help you heal faster.
Just another doctor, who for some reason won't use their medical training, to properly cite medical peer reviewed studies, which would be free from basic conflict of interests.
The title of MD is given under the understanding that they'll use their medical training, which includes academics, in their career's, and life...

I know this is long, but…I run lab tests for a living. I am a medical lab scientist. One thing that needs to be said is that lab results can be deceptive or manipulated to seem good or bad when they may or may not be. I have strong opinions about orders some doctors place. It is no surprise that I take issue with some of the tests ordered in this case. He has both an a1c and a sed rate ordered. They are both tests that there are issues with. Sed rates are usually ordered by older physicians who were taught it was a necessary test. It is a nonspecific measure of inflammation. He does not have a crp ordered which is a better test even if it is even not the best test to order to measure inflammation. For those who do not know… inflammation can be a big factor in whether someone has heart disease. I suspect he is trying to show he does not have inflammation (and thus no risk for heart disease) with the sed rate result. Again, sed rates are the worst test that can be ordered to show inflammation. There are various things that can interfere with them, plus the test method itself is not great.
A1c is a test that is supposed to be used for diabetics. It shows a persons glucose exposure over a span of three months (the average age of red blood cells is 120 days or three months). It was created as a way for diabetics to not cheat on their blood tests. Noncompliant diabetics would cheat the glucose test the day they needed to have their blood work drawn to show a normal level. With an a1c, the doctor could see a picture of the past three months. It shows the glucose red blood cells have been exposed to for the past three months. It is not supposed to be diagnostic because it does not show a body’s response to glucose- only the exposure to it which can be altered, manipulated, or not show a true picture of a person’s true relationship with glucose. Unfortunately, it has become a test that is misused to diagnose people as having diabetes or a risk of it. It helps the pharmaceutical companies sell diabetes medication when a person’s a1c is elevated regardless of his or her risk of becoming diabetic. If someone suspects they have diabetes, he or she should have a glucose tolerance test to confirm it. It is the standard for diagnosing sugar diabetes. That being said, those two tests make him appear to have a low risk for diabetes and inflammation. In reality, he could be at risk. He has high cholesterol which proves there has been too much fat in his blood. His triglycerides are normal probably because he has not ate anything with fat to cause them to be elevated. When someone eats fat, it is shown a triglycerides and then converted to chylomicrons which are eventually converted to cholesterol. There is a process involved with lipid metabolism. Blood work can give clues as to how healthy a person’s diet is- or their response to exposure to things like fat or sugar. Blood work can be deceptive and manipulated. a better test for inflammation needs to be ran. even if a crp is nonspecific it is better than a sed rate. A1c being tested is a disappointment, but I realize it is becoming a normal thing to do even if it isn’t exactly a screening test but is being used for one.
The specific cholesterol tests were developed for a reason. They provide information about a person’s health regardless if someone considers them valid or not. I am not convinced that he is not at risk for cardiovascular disease from looking at his lab results.

Everybody needs to be taking B-12, whether they’re vegan or not. Plus, adding a little flax meal, and a little iodized salt, and/ or a little nutritional yeast to some of your meals & snacks, doesn’t really seem unreasonable to me at all. If vegans want to take other supplements, just to be sure, that’s their prerogative. But, it’s not something most of us have to do in order to stay alive & relatively healthy. 🤷🏻‍♀️💜🌱🫛🍄‍🟫🫛🌱💜🤷🏽‍♂️
