SO GOOD!!! ⛽️ ⛽️ ⛽️
Ответить2 years into restoring my moms 280z, its been in the family for 40 years. My mom traded a 1967 camaro for it that was trashed, now I have both cars. The z-car is almost ready for license plates.
ОтветитьI'll be subscriber #94. This is really well produced! Keep up the good work.
Ответитьthe 260 is an odd beast. My father had an early one with the smaller 240 like bumpers and my uncle had an later one with the larger 280 style. The differences between the cars went beyond cosmetic though. The early car went like a 240, but with more power and torque. It had all the lightness, but the bigger engine. The later car was softer, with more weight and less power. I think it is the later cars that give the 260 it's bad reputation. I have actually had 240z owners not believe me that the early style 260 even exists.
ОтветитьAwesome job! Keep up the good work!
ОтветитьYour editing is just so darn good. Evokes some really great nostalgic feelings. Do you mind if I ask what setup you're using for your VA narration? its so clear.
ОтветитьThe 260Z gets a bad rap, and for some valid reasons. I owned one and the Hitachi/SU carbs with all the smog crap hung on them had SHIT for drivability. 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮 They were also a nightmare to keep tuned compared to the carbs on the 240Z. The F.I. on the 280Z was a MUCH needed improvement.
ОтветитьThey kinda ruined the pure aesthetics of the Datsun Z car with their later versions after the 240 and 260Z, especially with the 280Z. Hue hood scoops and added chrome doodads thst sprouted all over the car just made it look like other Japanese cars of the era. The appearance of more angular lines on the body did not help!
ОтветитьKeep up the great work, bud. You got a new sub with me!
ОтветитьThese old "Datsun's" look amazing now, the 240 always did but the others like the 510 and pickups, etc., are alll super collectible in my view. Thanks for posting; the video footage of everyday cars are a real treat to see.
ОтветитьThe easiest way to identify the two? One if far fuglier than the other.
I came close to buying a 260z 2+2. In the late 80s, I wanted a 240z. The ones I could find that I might be able to afford were rusty and in poor condition. I saw a 260z that was 2+2. I didn't like the styling nor the white interior. I ended up with a 79 Mustang. But the 260 would have been interesting in retrospect.
I love the 5-speed badge. So common for the period that cars would have that. Seems funny by modern standards. Like all the cars in the 80s that sported Turbo badges.
ОтветитьThe 1975 280Z is the best of the series! MY daily driver for 15 years was the 1972 240Z achieving at 200,000 miles. A buddy or two had ZX models. So in the day when these were fresh models and top of their game, I experienced all three versions. However my sister had the 75' 280, and it was nicer, smoother, and just about indistinguishable in driving, a bit more torque and less power band sensitive, so easier to hurry along. Good review and history. will try the makenmodel sub reddit.
ОтветитьI have a UK market 1976 260Z 2+2 and I love it! In the UK it is the rarest S30 and also the cheapest to buy (due to it's apparent lack if desirability).
Ответитьi love both my 260Z's one they both are early "series 2" 260Z's my first 260Z I just "finished" with adding triple DCOE style cabrs, now this winter ill start on the other thats mopar small block swapped. i personally would never buy a square body s30 or s130 or 2+2 versions.
ОтветитьMy aunt and grandfather both had a B210. Great video! Subscribed. This is SO much better than 90% of the automotive channels.
ОтветитьMy uncle had a beautiful 240. He told me the 260 and 280 were crap, so I always thought they were! 😂 Even in the 80's and 90's I rarely saw 240's, but 280's were sighted somewhat regularly. Now a friend is restoring a 280!
Love the video. Keep it up!
Was the 280Z ever even offered in Europe ? -- I'm only aware of the 240 and 260s as a 'Z', -- and the 280 as the first gen 'ZX' and vice versa.
ОтветитьEnjoyable, entertaining and interesting vid - many thanks. I see this channel reaching a much wider audience.
Ответитьdad had a 280, so that's where they start for me. the 240 and 260 are just crappier versions as far as i'm concerned
ОтветитьLove this video. I love the Zs. The Z31 is my favorite car of all time. I really hope you don a video on it. Nobody really has (it’s always lumped in with the 280zx or given like 5 minutes in a Z history video). A lot of us love them and will definitely watch . Keep up the good work!
ОтветитьI own two 1973 Datsun 260z's.
ОтветитьThey used the Mercedes Benz straight 6 as a template for development of their straight 6. You missed the two tone 1980 10th Anniversary model.
Ответитьdidnt know a 2+2 existed until i seen this video, why do they get hate, they look so good
ОтветитьTop notch video! Well done sir. Just earned another of many new subs to come. As a proud owner of a Z car this is much appreciated
ОтветитьWell done video. I am a Z car enthusiast so enjoyed your take on the history of the Z. New subscriber looking forward to more quality videos.

ОтветитьI had a 260z 2+2 in the late 90's, my surfboard fit in the back had fat tires could drive on the beach, spewin my mate rolled it lol
ОтветитьFantastic video. Thank you for sharing. I've owned both and the 260Z is a much better car. The performance difference is negligible and the build quality is drastically improved. I'd take a 260z over a 240 every day of the week.
ОтветитьMy grandad was a Datson/Nissan and Honda/Yamaha motorcycle dealership owner. I literally grew up there, living right next door, and hanging out with grumpy grease-stained mechanics every day after school... Paul Newman posters sharing wall space with Kenny Roberts on the showroom windows.
My uncles each owned/drove Datsun 2000s, and I would much later have a second-hand 260 as my second car, and a 78 280 as my third, roughly 10 years after they'd been initially released.
Needless to say, the subject is of some interest.
Moreover, as a fledgling content creator (annals of motocross history, a parallel pursuit of sorts) with just a few more subscribers than you after a year of trying... well, I've been oft discouraged and am still weighing continuing the effort. A bit of a bad taste in my mouth, frankly. But you, young man, have certainly earned a new subscriber. Stumbled across this latest, and have went back to binge the previous episodes. Well done. Very, very good composition and execution.
Lefts be honest these cars could not pull a skin off a sausage
ОтветитьGood job, I have no criticisms. Keep up the good work!
ОтветитьI hope to see a video on the b210 and sentra.

Ответитьfuel pump!
ОтветитьThis channel is fantastic in every way. Keep doing what you’re doing.
ОтветитьReal man’s Z is the 300ZX.….other looks cheap and weak

ОтветитьI was the unofficial owner of a 1974 260Z for a few minutes when I was 9 years old. It was late 1978 and my future sister-in-law wanted a new car but said no one would buy her old car. I said I had saved $7 and offered it to her for the car. She looked at my brother, smiled and said yes. I got the money from my bank, gave it to her and she handed me the keys. I was so happy. I wanted to go sit in my car, so we went outside and I sat in the driver's seat. When we came back in, my brother said to give her back the keys and she handed me back the $7. I didn't want to do it, but I knew that it wasn't a fair deal for her. I knew that cars cost a lot more than that.
ОтветитьBasically the deal is there was nothing in common with the original 240Z which oozed “1st principles” with the later 70s S30s 260Z etc. As soon as you added somethings a “fix” whether legal or comfort, you are a fail. It needed a complete ground up design. I had a ’82 S130 2+2 Turbo with T Tops all options Blabbermouth Betty etc and it was 10x away from the 240Z - the ONLY fun driving part was the turbo boost from say 50 - 90 on a highway otherwise it was a fancy gack loaded girl magnet for cocaine after all it was the 80s here in LA, a toy that was a boulevard cruiser at best. Way too expensive for what you got, but it was a “free” gift, common in the biz in those days so I cared not anyway, lol hence the unbiased opinion, don’t get me started on my beloved HemiCudas back in ’71 either…lol 👀
ОтветитьHow do you have only 1.34K Subs??????????!!! Your video production is Awesome! I love everyone of your videos. I grew up Z and 510 and the Lil' Hustler. I am telling all my motorheads about you. You should be at 500K subs at least!

ОтветитьMy 260z has the 2.5 bumpers but the grill blinkers ?
ОтветитьI'm glad I found your channel!
ОтветитьWhile working on this video, I came across some pretty amazing builds. Sooooo discussion time: If you had an unlimited budget, what would you turn a 240Z-280Z into? Would you give it a full restoration? Or build something like a dragstrip legend? It's pretty impressive how these 50 year old cars are still being used in motorsports. ⛽
