"There’s a lot going on!” "I don’t want to analyze it!” Omg this made me laugh so hard!
ОтветитьOllies crackers might have helped
ОтветитьI understand this food was born out of necessity, but the flavor combinations blow my mind. Like none of this even sounds remotely appetizing, and that’s not even from a recency standpoint. Who mixes lime jello with seafood, onion, and cottage cheese? it doesnt even sound real
ОтветитьI would not have survived the 1950s!!
ОтветитьLime jello with cottage cheese is actually really good. The lettuce, onion and seafood salad is weird.
ОтветитьSorry fellas but….both of you would make a freight train take a dirt road.
ОтветитьI love these jolly episodes where I laugh until I cry and this one definitely did that for me. Thank you 🙏🏼😂
Ответить"tomato refresher"...how do those two words even go together?...
ОтветитьI miss these fully goofy episodes. Might be fun to see something like a not-awful weird old recipes thing (B. Dylan Hollis has a whole cookbook of those, though it has some marked awful ones too)
ОтветитьThe creations of a lot of enraged 1950's housewives.
ОтветитьJenny must be an amazing chef to have created all of these food abominations, especially the pineapple one!! 😮
ОтветитьI am usually jealous of all the great foods they get to try and eat..... today I am glad to say that I am VERY happy NOT to be them!
ОтветитьThese recipes were definitely made during the war and it just carried over.
ОтветитьI thought this was the worst costumes episode 😂
ОтветитьIt is amazing anyone survived the 50s.
ОтветитьIts not funny when a man dresses like a woman. Joke or not just sad. Is this a humiliation ritual?
ОтветитьTHE OUTFITS😂😂😂😂
ОтветитьAfter this era came the 1960s and tv dinners.
ОтветитьMakes me think of the cooked meats in aspic… I will never understand the need to put a cooked meat in a horrifically under-flavoured ‘jelly’ when you’re not doing it solely for the purpose of preserving it. It’s something that should be consigned to the desperation of the ‘war years’…🤢🤢🤢🤢
ОтветитьCan you imagine the husbands coming home from working and being served some of these foods for dinner?!
ОтветитьThis is very much in the spirit of James Lileks’s’ hilarious book, The Gallery of Regrettable Food. His comments on each of the culinary horrors are laugh out loud funny. Highly recommend it.
ОтветитьThis was the era where gelatin ceased to be some untouchable industrial thing and became available in little instant boxes at home. So everyone jellied everything. It was much like the 'bacon makes everything better' era or that molecular gastronomy silliness where they were turning everything into deconstructed foam. The jellying also preserved food and acted as a filler.
ОтветитьIf you look at the video carefully, the person on the right of your screen is the serial killer
ОтветитьStill better than British food....
ОтветитьMy goodness these guys are committed. I would not eat a mouthful of something that is confirmed to taste horrible.
ОтветитьI am guessing these were taken from american recipes. The english would still be on rations for the most part
ОтветитьOllie looks just like my grandma circa 1955 😂 love your channel! It brings so many people together. idk if you’re still taking snacks to try from different states but Colorado USA has a lot to offer and I’d love to send some!
ОтветитьWhat is going on ladies!!
ОтветитьOllie has a angry bush
ОтветитьAlso Ollie you are a handsome woman
ОтветитьSpit bucket please
ОтветитьYou all are killing me. Yet I can't look away.
ОтветитьRAll of those were horrible, I somewhat gagged for everyone except the melon
ОтветитьAunty Josh and Grandma Ollie😂😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤ Love you guys!!!!
ОтветитьToo funny!!
ОтветитьHow horrible is it that I actually remember some of these that my grandmother made
ОтветитьJosh, you look a bit like Austin Powers! YEAH BABY YEAH!!!
ОтветитьI think maybe just because it was in a book doesn’t mean anybody ever eat it. JO came up with it. They put it in a book people like no thank you and then they came up with another one.
ОтветитьThese creepy Jello salads were all the rage when I was young. People would grate carrots in neon green jelly. It was so disgusting. Consider yourself lucky😅
ОтветитьJolly's toilets must hate them...
ОтветитьI like lime jello with cottage cheese and shredded carrots
ОтветитьMy grandma made some truly horrendous jello dishes. Unfortunately we had to try them according to my mother.
Ответить😂
ОтветитьOlly is so comfortable as that chick 😂
ОтветитьI want to see Ollie's costume closet! And apparently, wig room! 😂😂😂
ОтветитьWhipped cream instead of cream cheese
Ответить"I like you, but kind of as a joke."
You guys get me.
There are two things to take from this video. First, Americans need to stop talking crap about UK food after this video. Also, Josh can dress as Danny sitting next to Ollie dressed as Sandy, and Josh looks more feminine.
