There’s actually a new update where you can turn off the feature that makes beds explode.

I think it’s because time works differently in the nether, if you hold a clock while In the nether it goes haywire, probably because time is wither non existent or moving so erratically that sleeping would be impossible thus creating a paradox causing the affected area to explode

I once made a bunch of survival maps where I gave a lore explanation for why beds explode. The first humans to enter the Nether enslaved the Piglins, so their god cast a curse on humanity, making cotton beds explode when they attempted to sleep. As a result, all of the dungeons in the Nether built by human hands have beds made out of packed ice. (or was it blue ice? I can’t remember, but you get the gist.)
