This scene is an all-time favorite. Not enough people know that Steve Vai played all the guitars for this scene.
Ralph Macchio was great, and did a credible job for a non-guitar player. For not being an actor, Steve Vai did a terrific job as Jack Butler, the Devils guitar player.
And I never noticed before, but those are Carvin half-stacks that are on stage during the duel.

Fun fact , the piece Ralph plays at the end is a piece by Paganini who was said to be the devil's violinist, so we technically have the devil's guitarist vs the devil's violinist, so the devil is defeated by himself 😂. Also Ralph isn't playing the end piece , it's Steve vai, so Steve vai is also beaten by himself. Meta AF

If you think about this, from a guitarist's perspective, we are asked to believe that Steve Vai lost the contest because on the final note he couldn't find the fundamental while playing the chromatic scale. Chances of that being true are somewhere between 0.000000001% and 0.000000002%/ The 0.000000002% would be because he's sick, on oxygen in the hospital with severe covid.

Steve Vai played both guitar parts and Ry Cooder played slide guitar in this scene. Ralph Maccio is not a guitar player but Arlen Roth worked with him all throughout the movie to teach him how to play. Both Steve and Arlen coached Ralph for this particular scene, to teach him how to fake it real good.

Wany arts have written about it in their songs, or "in code". But when they die (usually very early), they spend eternity in she'ol ("hell"). I'd never do that - not for trillions of trillions of dollars. Better to be super-poor, and have salvation.

I am 39 years old and I just happened to come across this video of one side of the entire battle and it was showing the Karate Kid looking guy towards the end of the battle exchanges as the one clip by itself and the other guy standing there not saying nothing staring him down and after reading the comments and learning with the movie was behind the Steve v i a in the vector being with in relation but I've never heard of the movie Crossroads before today and my parents watch things on different channels growing up movies even rented movies some even like rated R or unrated and that kids should never see in a difference of adult and something of sheltered for a reason to respect them of their development
