this doesn't exactly answer the question of what are the humanities. js
ОтветитьThat was so helpful.....said no one ever!
Ответитьthat described nothing.
ОтветитьDamn this one missed
Ответитьthis video was a waste of my time. how am i suppose to use this for my work?
Ответитьyeah sorry lady but humanities are not necessary for everyone to learn .. pretty useless to an accounting major lol
ОтветитьI watched this, then sat there asking myself what exactly I just watched. I then watched it again, and then scrolled down to see everyone else is as lost as I am.
What exactly did this video even say? How is this even relevant to my studies ._.
If you attend snhu , within the Shapiro library you can find an explanation of the four lenses and examples of each one.
Ответитьso...what i got from this is that humanities are important for business and a job where i wont be locked in a cubical mentally but will be locked into one physically?
ОтветитьThis is not effective learning material if you want to charge me for an education then at least try.I don't need a clip of a news interview slapped on u tube and presented as academic material. I actually want to learn and this is trash.
Ответитьsave yourself 2 minutes and just don't watch this video
ОтветитьTheir is a difference between critical thinking which is necessary to break down a problem or activity to its constituent parts in order to produce a desired outcome , For example writing a piece of music or designing and building a bridge . Here critical thinking is essential.
However when that critical thinking moves from process to ideology it requires focusing not only on the process but also on the reasons the decisions were made to achieve the outcome that produced that bridge etc . In essence it doesn’t matter what that bridge looks like or what influenced its designer to make it look that way or even what advantages the designer may or may not have enjoyed in their journey to designing the bridge , only that it functions as a bridge .
If critical theory/ideology suggests that the designers ideas are invalid because xyz on the identitarian scale of immutable characteristics have given the designer advantage . Does not mean that the bridge will fall down . Nor does it mean that someone who is more valid due their ranking on the identitarian scale will build a better bridge if only they were advantages artificially by a system skewed by an attempt to create equity of outcome . I think 🤔
Here's a quick dictionary definition : the humanities are academic disciplines that study aspects of human society and culture. Since it wasn't in the video, I figured I'd look it up and post it :)
Ответитьhow is this supposed to help me write an essay about a painting why did i have to watch this
ОтветитьRequesting my $683 for this class back because I'm just teaching myself at this point
ОтветитьThe humanities was actually an in-depth study of the Barnum effect, and it got so out of hand that it became a legitimate field.
Ответитьsnhu is so fucking wack
ОтветитьThis honestly did not help me with anything. I did better looking it up on my own. It may have been under two minutes long but it was not worth the time to watch.
ОтветитьOm shanti de
ОтветитьI can't believe that out of all of the videos about the humanities, this is the one my university chose for us to watch. No help at all.
ОтветитьThey should change the title to "Examples of Jobs in the Humanities and Why they are Important"
ОтветитьExcuse you 😑
ОтветитьIt's like I walked in to a pizza shop, bought some pizza, and got a hamburger. What?
ОтветитьHumanities encompass everything just about but it gives us a view of the past and present which gives us hope for a better tomorrow. It also opens up the mind and helps you explore some people don't know what they wish to be nor understand other cultures or information but humanities open the mind.
ОтветитьThis was interesting! I can see why the humanities are important.
ОтветитьFrom what I gathered from the introduction into this topic at SNHU.... is that Humanities is the reapplication of historical events, cultures, and social interactions repurposed into entertainment and media. This video doesnt really mention it, but that can include paintings of war, videogames based around a set time period and culture (Ie: assassins creed), or even music inspired by ideologies such as patriotism (Ie: national anthems)... This relates back to the other lenses because of how important it is to study social scieneces and history to create a well informed piece of work. Humanities is usually used in this sense to spread a message within an accurate setting to best convey the artisans perspective. I hope this is helpful. Hate how they describe it as "well we arent gonna tell you what it exactly is but it is defintley life changing and helpful in the work environment, so you should defintiley do it,,, still not gonna help you though!" Thanks.....
ОтветитьThe comment section is better help then the video
Ответитьso after wasting my time with the video and reading amazing response. I've made the thought jump that Humanities are basically a bridge that connects the histories, social science and natural science. studying one and following it to the other, accumulating into one big ball of mush that gives a broader and thorougher idea of the subgect at hand. Thanks everyone.
ОтветитьI wish she could speak for longer.
ОтветитьWhy is SNHU using a 10-year-old video? Surely, there is current content we can use.
ОтветитьI don't know wtf I'm in liberal arts or wtf I'm suppose to be learning from this class and the material it recommends, such as this video.
