Happen to me before, my board kills my GPU, Power Supply because of current surge.

That power supply nuked itself but saved everything else that's why it was acting weird 100%.

I hate pre builds. I get why they exist but the dishonesty of most companies doing it drives me wild. Corner cutting on a service people pay good money for is execution worthy if you ask me.

I always find it amazing, how garbage and crap are the system of some random ppl... For example when i had boxes of many old mining cards that i did test, clean and refurbish, in order to re sell them back in the great GPU desert that was 2021 - 2022, i sold like 100+ cards, and few ppl had so garbage systems, that did blow my mind off... One guy did say i did sell him broken Vapor X R9 280x, that had no signal... When i did ask him what his PSU is, i got some kinda of answer, that it is chinese PSU, but it is kinda working, i was like wtf, just go into PC repair center, for them to test the GPU with quality PSU and show me picture (sadly the guy was from another town..), that the card is not posting, in the end seems the GPU was working but the guy had trash PSU, and was ignorant too... Another crap was with even older card Radeon HD7950 Dual X, sold the card to a guy, again from another town... then i got a massage, that my card does not output signal, i started asking as usual questions, so i can understand wtf is going on. That guy was also very ignorant, he showed me some HDMI connector on his dirty AF TV that had smoke dust and sheet, at some point i asked about what the PSU is, he told me, then said that his GTX 1050TI that did die, was working with only 1 PCIex 6 connector, and that he did plug only that to this card, no matter the HD7950 do need dual 6 pin PCIex connectors lol...
Or a guy that got B360 LGA1151 Aorus mobo from me, then told me later on that the board dont have signal, i asked what CPU is he installing, he said 6700K, i was like wtf, this is second gen 1151 boards that support Intel 8 and 9 gen, and dont support 6 and 7 gen, he was like dafuq...

So yeah some ppl are ignorant af, and many of them have some real garbage PSU... Tho over the years i got few quality PSUs, that did gone bad for me, no matter they were all new.. Like SeaSonic 850W Gold PSU that did melt one of the PCIex cables on both sides , and caused BSODs from time to time.. Or EVGA SuperNOVA 850W Platinum, that did degrade so badly over time, my system did work like crap, coil whine, USB surge problem/ disconnects, and in the end after 2-3 years was so bad it did start to hard shut down my system... When i replaced this trash EVGA with VERY old Corsair HX 750W Silver PSU, ALL of the problems i ever had was gone, i was shocked...

750w would be overkill 850w would be future proof... wtf does he need 1000w for 10 years from now some tech at a store is going to take that think apart and have a wtf? face at the power suppy lol

Greg, Ryzen boards always take a long time to post for the 1st time or when CPU or RAM is changed :)

A tip for testing the motherboard with minimum risk - buy a buzzer (internal speaker), every motherboard have pins for it. For motherboards without digital or LED error code signaling this is the simplest way of testing if motherboard is at least alive. You don't even have to put CPU or RAM in it. You only risk PSU, which you've already connected.

Also always test motherboard out of the system with the least components and cables connected. So many times I've seen shorts to the case, fried fan PCBs tripping safeguards, cables degraded after time etc. Not to mention obvious ones like damaged PSU or GPU.

You should have retested on the original board once you verified all parts working. And since all the parts were working on your test rig there was no reason not to test the mobo to ensure it was the root cause and not "assume". Like they had floppy drive power plugged into the mobo... and his RAM could have been seated in the wrong spot or not even compatible with his mobo should always verify compatibility if they have issues right after a swap thats a huge red flag. and BRO you had his video card and ram sitting on your carpet!?

Those screws remind me of my previous PC in a Zalman case. So little space for cables on the back I had to hold the PC case between my legs so the back panel will line up properly for the screws.
I still have the case, it's sitting empty, tried to sell it for ~12€ with the only person interested wanted to get it delivered to the other side of the country with shipping being on me lmao, but yeah, the side panel is BENT and the screw holes are elliptical now lol

Keeping your rig clean will help temps and reliability. I'm always cleaning my dust filters about every couple of weeks. A power duster is a great tool to get to do a more in-depth cleaning of the case like every 6 months. A clean PC is a happy PC.

When diagnosing issues without removing the initial hardware, I use and endoscope to my phone. It makes it a lot easier to see what is going on in hard to reach places, plus you have a light-source too.

Spent 20+ years building and fixing Pcs, even down to making gart drivers.

It appears in the video you didn't secure the fans when you forced air thru them. Perhaps you did but it wasn't shown. The fans should always be secured before force cleaning them to prevent damage to the fans. You are the expert, it is just an observation.

When I was troubleshooting my bedroom pc that broke a few months ago I did have a spare graphics card and ram but not a spare motherboard of the same generation (only one like 5 years older and wanted to stress test it ideally) and cpu. Eventually a relative sent me their pc that needed repaired and what I did was test my graphics card on their pc, it booted no problem swapped psus and my psu worked on his pc and his in mine meant my pc still didn't post. So yeah it's not that I can't troubleshoot and even that I don't have at least some spare parts but I can't just quickly test something i.e I would have to take apart a working pc and use parts out of that to test a faulty pc.

A big mistake a lot of people make with video cards is thinking they are working fine when they see a post screen, but this is far from the truth. I have had many video cards that will display video all the way into Windows, but fail to work as soon as you try installing the drivers. So to anyone that may be testing a bunch of video cards, dont just assume they are working 100% because you see a post screen. You really need to have the card in a windows environment with the drivers installed and benchmarked with software to assume it is working 100%

It is not at all cringe for me to see this power supply in this person's rig. Back in 2012 when i was building my PC with a 6700k and a Sapphire Radeon R9 290X, i ended up getting a EVGA Supernova 1300 Watt G2 80+ Platinum fully modular power supply, it was on sale on Amazon for 170$, and i knew it was overkill, BUT, i have used this Power Supply since then, and now i have a Ryzen 9 5950x with Sapphire Radeon RX 7900XTX, and i know my power supply isn't gonna be a bottleneck for my PC for years to come!

That Floppy Molex connector being plugged where is was in that USB header, means either +5 to +5 and +12 to GND, or +12 to +5 and +5 to GND happened, depending which way it was plugged in, neither of which case, is likely recommended.

It's a little too late for this but I might as well throw this out there anyway. The way you find out which of those cards have a laptop GPU in it. Normally, it will be missing the DVI port. I don't know what it is about laptop GPUs and DVI but you just don't find DVI on them. You'll have a display port or two and an HDMI. But that's it. So if the card looks a little shady and you don't see a DVI port. Expect a laptop GPU

When my Ryzen 7 2700x was having graphical issues then not posting it was frustrating. Tried swapping out GPU and ram but still would not post. Ordered another motherboard and it still would not post. Turns out somehow the CPU died, not sure if it was from running 4x8GB ram at 3000mhz that did it in.
