He’s right that all pumas are called panthers, but he’s wrong that there is no cat that is names a panther. I live in Florida, and the Florida panther is only called a panther. There’s no other name for them, like a leopard, a jaguars or a cougar, which is also called a mountain lion, but the Florida cat is only referred to as a panther. They’re a bit smaller than western cougars, but otherwise, they look similar.

They’re both part of the puma family, like the jaguar and leopard, but only the Florida cat is only named a panther. I don’t believe any of the Florida panthers come in black, like jaguars and leopards can. I fortunately, the Florida panther may be extinct within our lifetime. There are very few of them left and inbreeding has caused them to have blood disorders.

Highways and cities have cut off their territories. They have large territories that can spread 20 miles. Because the northern cats have been separated from those in the south, like the Everglades, they’ve had no choice but to inbreed. They have introduced western cougar to breed with the panthers to being in fresh DNA, but then again, the offspring won’t be a panther anymore. For that reason, the Florida panther that had been here before any humans, will be gone and a new breed of cats will take their place.

These are great stories but I'm gonna have to call BS on the can't use a compass in the Amazon bit. I believe it's true that there are magnetic anomalies in the soil, however these anomalies are random which means as you continue to travel, your error left and right will average itself out. according to what I've read these anomalies are minor in the first place.
But with this being said, it would be brutal to be lost in there with or without a compass!

I don’t know. Leaving people illiterate with no knowledge of anything of the world or modern medicine or modern comforts, is that really humane? Mankind progressed through contact amongst peoples through trade and even conflict, knowledge built upon knowledge and civilization developed. Would any of us want to go back to living a Stone Age life? It would be much harder than we could even imagine. They are human after all.

Joe, when he told you of the captured little native boy, and he can't tell them about his life in the jungle, well, I may jave a sort of answer for that. I was orphaned by age 10, I really have no memories at all. I can only see the picture that I have a few of. I have maybe a couple slight memories. Riding on the back of a horse with my mom. Getting a spanking from my dad. That's about it.what I'm saying is PTSD, and our survival mechanism will block it all out , that way your not in pain all the time. It's a great mind we have. It's very protective. Well taking him from all he knows was SO WRONG and traumatic to do to any human !!! Not cool. But that's what I thought about instantly. Trauma.

I am from Brasil and i went to the amazon once i live near the middle of the rainforest well not middle but i have been there but i have been there but it was so scary while i was there you hear these legends about talking spirits in there but it the uncontacted ones cos my family has some ties there i was there for about a 3 weeks and there WAS ONLY ONE PERSON THAT SPOKE ENGLISH and he was a great poker face could not tell if he was telling the truth or not but they were so scary with some red paint on their face it was like i saw a ghost but they have the best food so worth the trip, but back to the point the voices at night i could hear they we like something about use i could understand a little about what they said but the main word i understood was " do they know about the caves " and that was when we had to go good trip though 10/20
