AAA Games Vs. Indie Games

Idk if this game is considered AAA but outlast is probably the best horror game I ever played

I think that AAA games have 3 main problems: they're on average too similar, they stick too much to realistic graphic without trying something different (and in the end they seem all the same) and, as you said, they often become boring for lack of interesting things. On average they don't take the risk to try new mechanics.
I mean with indie games you can find so many different games, approaches, graphics and mechanics at a cheaper price that's not even a question what you should choose. What about the price? You can get for 15$ masterpieces (or even less) that last hundreds of hours. There's no comparison, GO INDIE! :)

The only AAA games that I care about are the ones made by Nintendo. I've tried stuff like Mass Effect, Assassins Creed, The Last of Us.I do not like them. Not my thing. Nintendo AAAs are just much more interesting and unique, more like indie games in a lot of ways. I don't know if I've ever tried an indie game but I'm willing to give them a shot.

i agree with your central idea in this video AAA games will force out stuff to appease the players while indie game devs will invest their souls and hearts and will listen to every bit of feedback to improve the game and make it as enjoyable as possible

The last boss fight in Pathless looks a lot like the the last boss in path of exile..., i think they got some inspiration.

Buying a Switch Lite has made me realize my gaming palette was shit and finding these hidden gems from indie studios has been a great experience.

Over the past few years I really didn’t play much outside of Apex, 2k, and a few other random AAA’s. But recently I’ve been feeling sooooo much better revisiting old games and finding new ones like Hades, Lethal League Blaze, Bomb Rush Cyberpunk, Limbo.. and a bunch more I haven’t gotten to yet!

( Indie > AAA ) 1000% at the moment especially if you appreciate unique art styles..

Its time for a hard reset on gaming. This should be a cyclical thing. Companies start on that indie level. Get big. Get stagnant. Fall off as the new indie takes over gaming. Rinse and repeat. If they dont fall off then to keep up making AAA games they have to sellout or resort to scummy practices.

An indie game can take me money based on art style alone. I hope the future of the indie game side of things can keep gifting us the same quality without the Unity.

youre not comparing bad triple A games with the average indie games youre comparing them to good indie games, most indie games are boring but you dont see them because youll never see them advertised

I enjoyed Forspoken that was my first PS5 game I ever played. I enjoyed the story.

A great AAA game will always be better than a great indie game.

Lets not forget that cuphead took two ppl drawing each ftame for the game rather than using a software to make the game models

I love indie games but I think comparing good indie games to bad AAA games isn’t really fair there are plenty of bad indie games and there are still some good AAA games.
