The eponychium is the skin that grows under the nail bed… and yes cutting your cuticles with a cuticle cutter not a hang nail cover will ensure a longer lasting and a better looking manicure, you want the base to be clean. Now your nail beds don’t have much cuticle compared to some people who need there’s trimmed regularly. Hope this helps!

I like to use a pipette for my polish thinner. I buy cheap nailpolish so sometimes i need thinner right out the gate lol
I've gotten really good at application but after one shift at work my polish is all chipped up. Im going to try your prep routine and see if it gets me anywhere. Im kinda used to changing my polish all the time now though, i kinda like it 😅
Btw the brushes in your polish seem so bomb! I hate when the nailpolish brush is whack, makes it so much more tedious. I wanna be coated in 1 or 2 swipes.

I never use base coat but I always dehydrate my nail before application. I always get at least 7 days of wear. 😬

mine peel off in one or two days but i also dont mind bc its satisfying. but it does mess up my nails bc i peel up the rest😂😭

This was a good lesson, I am so basic but I will try to follow these tips next and see if my polish lasts longer.

I do all these things and my gel nail polish still chips after 1-2 days. When I go to the nail salon they clean up the cuticle and stuff, but they definitely don't wrap the tip (in fact, they usually file my nails after they've been painted??) but the manicure easily lasts three weeks with no chipping. By the time it's grown out and I need to do them again, the polish is still in perfect condition. Wtf am I doing wrong at home? 😭

I have a disorder that makes it so nail polish and other things do not stick well to me. My nail polish comes off in whole peelies without a peel off base coat and with a long lasting base coat so personally I’m not sure any of this advice would help. But for getting my friends into nail polish it will be important.

I have seen various people tell you to add a new layer of top coat every day or every 2 to 3 days to extend the life of your manicure. What are your thoughts about this?

Even when I get my nails PROFESSIONALLY done, they chip within days. So it isn't always just about "good" polish or technique, some of us are just rough on our hands.
