Excellent summary about the history and the special capabilities of Sierras Dream Chaser! I really hope Dream Chaser will be taking a successful test flight soon! It is a pity, that they seem to have to avoid Space X as a contractor to bring it up. Blue Origin has a rather slow production rate for the BE 4 engines temporarily grounding ULA in the process.
I agree that it is not logical to prevent Dream Chaser from using Nasa facilities like runways. I don't agree Space X has shown to be irresponsible and caused risks outside approved boundaries. Of course everyone was shocked by the second failed test flight, indcluding Space X staff! But Space Flight is hard, and as long as the FAA keeps protecting civilians and Space X follows those rules I think everyone can be happy. I wish parmaceuticals would be as rigoriously guided by rules and test results monitored as the FAA does it with space vehicles.
Hope the fight is going ok mate...keep blinking
ОтветитьGreat Video ! The Boeing X-37B Spaceplane has landed at the KSC Runway ! The Sierra Space Cargo Dream Chaser started life as a NASA Project in the Lifting Body HL-10/HL-20 Program ! The Dream Chaser can be launched by the ULA Vulcan Centaur or the SpaceX Falcon Heavy rockets ! Also Dream Chaser has contracted to land at Spaceport America in the State of New Mexico if needed ! The SpaceX Crew Dragon, the Boeing Starliner and the Sierra Space Crew Dream Chaser are all needed for the return to the moon to stay ! The Blue Origin Blue Moon HLS/LEV/LLV with a fuel load of 6.1 km/sec delta-V can do one-way missions from the low inclination LEO CSS with a Fuel Depot nearby to the South Pole Lunar Outpost/Base (Clementine Base) with a LS Fuel Depot nearby ! Also the Blue Moon HLS with a Crew Module that has an Air-Lock and a top Docking Port can do missions to the HST and to GEO spacecraft ! Timothy Lipinski
ОтветитьThanks for the informative video, AA, and welcome to my hometown, NYC! (Even if just for a brief layover.) I too am hopeful about the future potential of Dream Chaser to gently return larger cargos to Earth. I'm not too worried about the lack of FAA licensing and approval yet, when the first flight is still months away. Perhaps both Sierra Space and the FAA are taking their time on that until the launch date gets closer. I hope the first launch will be before the year ends.
ОтветитьIf it ever flys lol
ОтветитьThe rise of SpaceX and its competitors? How about just the rise of SpaceX. What competitors? 🤔🤨
Ответить👍👍👍🚀🚀🚀
ОтветитьShuttle 2.0 or Grand Son of the Shuttle 🚀.
ОтветитьSo Jordan, do you know what the FAA requires of Sierra Space to approve Dream Chaser to fly? My bet is you do not. Do you know what Sierra Space has supplied to the FAA? Again, probably not. So on what basis, lacking knowledge of key information for approving a launch license, can you be justifiably "disgusted" that Sierra Space has not been issued it's launch license while asserting, somehow again without the information to back up your claim, that the FAA is giving Starship special treatment due to Elon's political standing? You're making it hard on us who support you to defend positions you're taking based more on passion than on facts. Yes, we're rooting for Tenacity as well, but this may be more of Sierra Space having difficulty making it across the finish line than the FAA moving the finish line. Deano in DC
ОтветитьOn Dreamchaser, have they even filed with the FAA?
ОтветитьULA has a part to play with Sierra. It looks like ULA will have a Vulcan Centaur ready for Sierra during the third quarter of ‘25.
ОтветитьHow about growing data crystals, and layering to make them produce more power
ОтветитьI really want the Dream Chaser to succeed!
ОтветитьI think the front landing skid is the issue and NASA is very PROUD and to a high extreme PROTECTIVE of their landing strip. Really. However, for a landing strip to be of use, shouldn't it be used? Just saying.
ОтветитьBeen rooting for Tenacity tenaciously for years.
ОтветитьI wonder what is going on with Sierra Space? They have been quiet for a while now!
ОтветитьDidn't SNC say it was going ahead self funding a crewed chaser?
ОтветитьThey should have the Dreamchaser land in Northern mexico. That way, can I get back to America for lunch again.
Yum.
It's wired that you have not mentioned that It's an old Russian design Sierra builded on...
ОтветитьAccording to the google A.I.The FAA has not issued a license for the Dream Chaser to fly because it's undergoing a public review and comment period for a draft environmental assessment, which is required for any major federal action like issuing a license modification according to the Federal Aviation Administration. This process ensures that the FAA complies with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). The FAA also needs to ensure that SpaceX's license application meets safety, risk, and financial responsibility requirements,.... Also known as Marxist Bull@#$%^&*(,.... while you take a segway at Trump and Elon yet again the real cause is over active environmental Marxists in our midst,... but hey, you're "A-Political,... I guess it really does take an asteroid!
ОтветитьI get the feeling that someone doesn't want this company to succeed.
ОтветитьRegarding Elon and StarShip, StarShip has a greater amount of benefits over dream chaser, the USA already has a vehicle similar to dream chaser. I do hope the best for dream chaser, I like the ideal of it being used as a lifeboat 🛟 for future space station.
ОтветитьThe more the merrier but I definitely wouldn’t read to much into The FAA there’s no information from the FAA regarding dream chaser and as for starship debris the left will try anything to make Elon look bad among others !!! The space industry is going to have some bitter pills to swallow just like the space shuttle we need to accept that space travel is going to very difficult for the 10 years at least!! Humans are going to loose their lives in all companies involved let alone vehicles!!! We have to be grown up about it
ОтветитьI think NASA has a problem and must becable to explain its decision making.
NASA backed Starliner and what an expensive failure that turned out to be. NASA didn't back Dreamchaser despite it being based on earlier NASA's own design. IF Dreamchaser is able to fly and return well, NASA needs to explain itself.
None of this impresses me at all. I am a middle aged man who missed out on seeing the moon missions live due to being born about a month before the final landing. If people could be walking on the moon (and driving cars on it) well over half a century ago then please forgive me for not being impressed by someone flying only a few hundred miles over the atmosphere. We should have people walking on Mars right now and what he is describing in this video is just a glorified airplane.
ОтветитьI an really looking forward to seeing this get operational.
Just a note on pharmaceutical drugs. I don't know if you are aware that there is a Stem Cell patches that contains NO Drugs. It helps our body, help us.
Man you are a grifter, you were begging a week ago for money because you couldn't afford to fly home to Europe, now you are in New York. Space grifter.
ОтветитьLove your content. Watch all the time, but I'm going to have to unsubscribe. You drop comments that are negative towards Musk and Trump pretty regularly. They are making this country great again. Thanks for the content, but I'm out.
ОтветитьI expect Musk is leaning on the FAA to make life as difficult as possible for ANY SpaceX competition.
ОтветитьElon Musk Influenze the Donald Trumps goverment for his and SpaceX future.
ОтветитьThis beats the fringe UFO stuff.
ОтветитьBig surprise!!! The same FAA that ignored 150 tons Starship blowing into pieces above populated areas( two times in a row)is concerned about a 15th tons spaceplane ( around the same mass like dragon capsule) doing the same thing! Obviously today Musk have a complete control of this agency, so pretending that they " just follow the rules" it's absolutely naive or partisane.
ОтветитьYou misspoke. It's 10 digit a quarter profits.
ОтветитьThis is one more project that most progressives & liberals would fund if they were in charge of NASA budget and FAA approvals. But neither party listens to any actual experts, only paid lobbyists.
ОтветитьIs it more jealousy from big boys with billions in govt funding?
ОтветитьGo back home commie. Elon turned space flight back on.
ОтветитьI was worried when I didn't see them at rhe symposium
ОтветитьHope nothing dogey is going on behind the no re-entry/landing at NASA facilities.
Grrr 😖
Dude you were all in on Trump and Elon, but just like everyone else "Alarm Bells and Concerns" only popped in your head when it personally started to affect you or something you care about! Honestly the only thing keeping Blue Origin in the race now is because you can say Jeff is in the new US OLIGARCH CIRCLE, but smaller competing companies with an actual better product ARE IN SERIOUS DANGER OF SIMPLY BEING DELETED!! If the Federal funding, contracts and even a simple license just "mysteriously" become impossible for them, they simply won't be able to survive even with private funding. I am really scared for STOKE SPACE and ROCKET LAB, they are a serious threat to SpaceX who has put all its "re-usability chips" on SS (I know SpaceX fanboys think this thing will be ready tomorrow and is the future), but the hardware from STOKE, LAB and SIERRA is actually very realistic for the near future while SS might be the Cybertruck of the rocket industry.
ОтветитьTHIS is the commercial space company I've 'cheered on' to succeed all along. Sierra Space can be the one to get businesses interested in the ultimate branching out...
ОтветитьSo Boeings Star Liner has been a major flop, so maybe NASA has finally come to their senses and realized Dream Chaser could be that secondary way of getting cargo and astronauts to be shuttled to orbit or brought back runway style.
ОтветитьAs for preferential treatment for Elon Musk because he’s working for Trump, I don’t think so. Starship was on the fast track towards the end of Trump‘s first administration when Elon was nowhere near him. What you were seeing now is a ramp up from the unfair treatment of the Biden administration towards Elon Musk and starship from the moment Biden got into office his administration was a millstone around SpaceX‘s neckthat millstone has been lifted and we’re back to business as usual.
ОтветитьI may have become a little more upset about Space.
ОтветитьDreamchaser, or something like it, is going to be necessary for passenger flights anyway. I genuinely can't see Starship with its flip manoeuvre being trusted for passenger flights. Dreamchaser could be a safer alternative for return flights.
ОтветитьThank you for quality updates and analysis across the spectrum of launch and space tech evolutions.
ОтветитьQuite frankly, I think if anyone has earned the benefit of the doubt it's Space X. They should be getting support from the government in their pathfinding endeavors.
And I hope Sierra Space and Blue Origin also are successful.
Trump might shut this down. Everything is in the do time. I hope for the best 👌.
ОтветитьRocket Lab is already doing microgravity pharmaceutical manufacturing with Varda…Sierra won’t be around in 5 years
