Julien: "We all love quick fixes"

Me: got addicted to amphetamines to compensate my insecurities....

But it doesnt work (maybe for a short time). It will slowly creep back to you.. Thank you Julien for the reminder.

The best thing about Julien, is he doesn't tote himself as a savior or a new jesus he wears random sometimes crazy clothes that are like he just woke up. Modern Degniones? I can't spell but props to him for all he's done and I'm glad he is succesful in this!

Thank you for this. I guess this is what I feel is lacking in CBT.
Shadow work is truly difficult, I guess there are parts of ourselves that protect us from our shadow.

Julien, I have been on my own self-improvement journey and part of it included journalling to manage my emotions and philosophical beliefs to help me maintain my productivity. I came across the videos and the concepts you talk about hit every single point I had on my notes which I crafted to recognise patterns in my thinking.
The author of 48 laws of power also has a video on the exact concepts you teach and its crazy but I don't think I have seen most self-help and self-improvement gurus ever talk about the things you mention.
Everyone always preaches body language, what to say, frameworks for speaking, how to be confident, what to think, how to use the "exposure ladder" yet the actual answer is to just be authentic.
It's like Jordan Peterson says, you either be authentic and face the consequence of who you truly are good or bad or face the consequence of living in a shadow of yourself.

Julien, one thing id keep in mind is that symptoms people want to get rid of are often required for their core beliefs to function. For example, someone comes in with low self-esteem and wants to feel more confident. They do all the work here and can’t seem to shake it. After exploring its function, said person unearths the core schema that “ I must never feel good about myself or I will succeed and surpass my own parent.” Assume coherence between symptom and belief system

I was thinking about the things he mentions right at the beginning, where other people hold the keys to your self-worth.
Why is his opinion important to others present there, in this instance? For me personally if I paid money to take part in that event, and took time to attend, then of course the main man's opinion of me will be important because I don't want to be seen as disagreable and in the worst case risk being kicked out.
Sure I could possibly recover the money, but not the wasted time, so a cost-benefit analysis will indicate that's best to cooperate and go along with whatever he is saying or doing, because I've already invested in this experience and by default he has gained some level of authority from me based on an initial level of trust. His opinion is important because it carries risk, the same is valid for any human living in society today.
If you want to rid yourself of the power other people's opinions hold over you, then first take care of the risk associated with those people. I would care about the opinion of my boss that decides my income, I would care about the opinion of my friends and family that form my support network, I would care about the opinion of a teacher that can change the course of my academic career with one bad grade etc. The problem is that we've become oversensitive to risks, we are overestimating the impact of our actions, and it stems from the ego. I believe the fine line that you need to draw with other people is done based on your values. You will care about the opinion of others, but you will be able to set boundaries and command respect, however you need that do or die attitude to not compromise on your values, and that can be extremely difficult if you're stuck on survival mode. Just my opinion.

Anyone know the best Julien video on letting go of regrets? Maybe specifically missed opportunities / getting rid of scarcity mindset? I trade options, and any time I am close to a big trade but miss it, it really screws with me for a week or two; not to mention ruminating in other areas of life too.

I think we have that need of approval either because we need to feel loved or we want something someone has to get somewhere to have a certain thing or status.

It feels good to be cheered and awful to be boo’d. Life will give you both of those even if it’s at your best effort, so Julien is expressing that you should enjoy it all. The good, bad and the ugly!

Hey julien, i watched a lot of your videos these months and they helped me just like you helped this girl, i learned a lot about myself and my insecurities and all that and i think i identified the major part of them and now im a lot better and more capable of identifiyng the things that trigger me but, i dont know exactly what to do now, i now i have to let go of them but i dont know exaclty how, i feel better when i do these exercices you talk about (like what the girl did in the video) but for some reason i dont think that is enough, i sooner or later get those back again. Can you make a video in more depth about how to trully "let go"?? The complete process, from the begining to the end and then, how to know if im really getting better and doing it right. I think that help a lot, not just me but everyone. Thanks a lot, you are being so important since i discovered your videos, you dont even know how much, thanks a lot! :)
