I had this same pc when it was new. I played StarCraft brood war and Diablo 2 like crazy on it.
Ran vanilla wow at 15 fps for a bit over a year before I finally got a new one.

That was a pretty common design at least. I had a similar pc like that back in the very early 2000s. Came originally with windows me and I later put “that” copy of windows xp on it. Slapped a GeForce 2 or 3 in it and had it for years. When it died I think I just took it to one of those recycling places.

That computer would be a great 98 SE rig for retro gaming.

I have to give you some credit there, I wouldn't have gone that far with Windows. And from that time period, I would have gone with XP Pro, that's probably what it came with.

I still have working Sony vaio pcg-505acp, which now is around 22 years old. Battery still can work up to 5 hours in Word or 3 in hl1. An amazing miracle of technology.

I had this pavilion PC but with a firewire drive dock as well. Takes me back to using Windows XP, downloading MP3s and spending so much time on MSN messenger.

Win xp for that pc. Just keep it off the net and you'll be fine. Oh and get rid of the fx 5200. The fx cards were all trash when new.

This sounds awfully similar to a machine I have by me, Pentium 4 I managed to squeeze off 2.5gb and windows 7 with a hd 4670

I remember copying and updating files or programs will take long, whats funny is the time indicator saying it will finish next year or two.

Back in the days my brother had a pentium IV PC with 1GB of RAM and 256MB VGA. HDD was 80GB. That felt like a luxurious gaming machine. My friends always complained about their Pentium III and II pcs for having lower specs and they found ours as the superior ones. They couldn't play NFS MW or GTA SA due to low system properties. So only thing they could is to ask details from me lol. That PC was around 3 grands back then. Now I can't even find such a model. Back then I was appreciating 1GB RAM but now even 16GB RAM feels like absolute trash. Just like sakura

And also this pc was sold with windows xp.

I have a custom built gaming pc from 2002 and it runs windows 7. its specs are pretty similar to this but somewhat higher
