Man, I am really glad I stumbled across this video. I am so frustrated by christian teaching for women and christian women. I thought it was just me being a terrible person. But in theological environments I've been in, I've learned they will not engage with questions or text that requires a deeper level of thinking or application. And it is infuriating for me. They want to play, socialize, talk about their kids, but they don't REALLY want to read the Bible. And honestly, I think this is part of literature for women's fault too. Women's literature is like a bucket of cool whip. I'm so glad to hear that I am not the only one that feels this way.

I can see how this would particularly be a problem in complementarian churches, but I've experienced it too in an egalitarian church like the Methodist church. The women's circles were full of fluff while the men's groups had more substantive talks and guest speakers. The only time I experienced good, solid theological study and discussion was when I was in the co-ed Disciple Bible Study sessions.

i remember going behind my grandma as a child, probably 5 years old asking her i wonder how heavens like. and she's like: no theres no heaven. and I replied but what happens after death? she replied: nothing. you just die. And i didn't respond but remember thinking ALOT about this as a kid, and i grew up thinking i ask to much. it's so important that the grown ups knows how to respond, my mind went bonkers because i never had anyone to talk to or confide in during my childhood. little did i knew there was a God all along...

I’m not Protestant, but have been following Faith for years even though I am Catholic because—the truth is that—the Bible is a Catholic book and what our fuller church needs—regardless of denomination—is for more women like Faith to be teaching in our universities and colleges. Please, Faith, use your degree at the university level to open minds and hearts to inspire rather than our current state of education that breaks down the spirit in teaching. Blessings!

I'll say this. It's fine to attend women's Bible study and do a book on "women of the Bible" or something like that. It's okay to go to church and create friendships etc. the key is that you have to read your Bible by yourself and at church and everywhere all the time. If the only Bible reading you're doing is in a women's study class then that's wrong. I attend women's Bible studies I don't think it's wrong. But I also study my Bible by myself and GO DEEPER INTO THE WORD. And praying. Praying is always important because the Holy Spirit will help you discern what you're doing wrong in life and you can get through that with Jesus Christ. He will always help you.

OMG! There is no such thing as a coincidence is there? I’m a pastor’s wife, senior individual and teaching my first Bible study. I was so discouraged when I started looking at Bible study books. They were all about me and how do I feel at every chapter. I thought I was losing my mind. I called a friend who is also a pastor’s wife and she is always struggling with the same thing. So, she had a study on discipleship written by a group of women in another church that ran into the same situation. We are doing the study now in our church.

My initial challenge is trying to keep everyone on track because several have a need to talk about how they feel about everything and want to share their life story. I need to find a nice way to refocus the conversation back to our study and what does God has to say to us. Perhaps you have addressed this in another posting. This is my first time here. Big thank you.

Over the thousand or so years, hundreds of world-class Bible scholars have developed established principles for interpreting the Bible. Few women Bible teachers use those principles; instead they talk about an interpretation of a passage that makes their life more satisfactory to them. The error of that is obvious.

Do any of y’all have an experience with lifeway women? I recently went to their conference and I’m a fan of Jen Wilkinson. I purchased a few of their Bible studies, but I’m wondering if that was a bad call. I generally just study the word for myself and use resources like “the Bible recap, Enduring Word, and Faith as well”. Just wondering y’all’s thoughts if you’ve done any of their recent studies. Or experiences with authors like Kristi McLeland, Courtney Doctor, etc. just genuinely curious because in this day and age it’s really hard to find solid teachers like Faith, Mike Winger, Allen Parr etc.

I’m single, 50. No kids. Try being this in the church. Try finding a women’s group or Bible study that doesn’t group all women into the wife and mom category. It doesn’t exist.

My aunt lead a woman’s Bible study for years and she has amazing theology and she has so much knowledge. I learnt more from her Bible study then from the churches I went to, the churches near me were a lot of ME theology but she taught us what the word said and how to study it. I’m thankful for her studies.

But I get what you are saying, a lot of woman Bible study are all about the fluff and Me but sadly so are churches.

I’m glad you have your channel.😊

Love this! My experience with women's Bible studies is that they often just become a book study/club. A study guide is picked, people read the chapter and then come together to do the discussion questions but instead of digging into scripture the answers are all found in what the author wrote about. I've sat through entire "Bible" studies where the Bible was only opened at the beginning to read the theme passage. I've really enjoyed Jen Wilkin's studies as they really force you to open scripture, to challenge your thinking, and learn how to read the whole Bible, not just the passage up for discussion.

I was ordained in my denomination many years ago. My mother was ordained when I was young. Both of us ministered alongside our husbands through the years. There are plenty of arguments in the Word for women who minister. It is good to see you sharing the whole, deep scripture, not just the "women" subjects. I have believed all these years that church "ordination" is just men/people acknowledging the fact that God has already anointed and ordained us.

I stopped going to woman bible studies. They always talk about feelings ,and they want to talk about my feelings. It's so annoying. My church doesn't have a woman's or a mens ministry we study with the men. We have a book study we all study together and it's not the fluffy stiff either. Right now we are studying the forgotten attributes of God. Its God focuses. I realy like it.

The problem with women is Religion. Women were created as an after thought, Religion see's women as a pig if they are not virgins. No woman can be a priest in the Catholic Church, women are not even supposed to speak in church according to the Bible. . Religion is reaching into your bedroom and your doctors office and your devices. Time to run with the Hare or the Hound ladies

"Ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of Christ." ~ II Timothy 3:7 immediately sprang to mind. No matter the knowledge we may have at our fingertips, none of it can take the place of God's Holy Word. It is forever settled in Heaven and will not change. Love your thoughts about all of this. I'm 62 now and lonely.
Most of my family has passed on.
I would give anything to be invited to a Bible study.
I don't care what they're doing just so I can be a part of people who are getting together.
Then I can wear a nice outfit that I bought when I dream of future things.
Most of them just sit around and they're out of style now.
I want a reason to put a nice outfit on and we're pretty jewelry and make nice friends but no matter how many times I go out and try to meet people it seems like they already have their groups.
So I decided to Google it so I could just see and pretend.
❤ I'm very thankful that I can travel through my eyes.

I don’t think it’s wrong to try to find answer to life’s questions in Gods Word. Some of what you said sounds critical of this. I do agree that “Ladies Bible studies “ have not been well done. Ladies will start but not complete them because they are not deep enough to bring them back.

I do appreciate that you are teaching how to study God’s Word. It’s helpful content. It is teaching us how to fish and not just handing us a fish.

the Bible says women can teach and preach. just as men. huabands have to submit to wives just as wives to husbands
first of all there is no male no female in Christ Lord Jesus (gal 3;28). God doesnt look at us through flesh because those who look at the flesh are carnally minded (rom 8;5)
secondly, in 1 tim 2 apostle paul talks about ONE woman to not teach one man. God is very specific and He does know how to use singular and plural form. when in the earlier verses paul was talking about modest dressing style when referren to women he used PLURAL form and then he talked about some issue we do not know about he used singular form. he forbade one woman to teach one man. he added that she was not to usurp authority over the man. of course! nobody can usurp authority over another person. men cannot usurp authority over women as well. men are to be submitted to their wives just as women to their husbands (eph 5;21), they are to walk in humility and die for their wives just as Christ died for the church (eph 5;25), if they want to be first they are to be slaves of all (mark 9;35).
also priscilla taught a man, apollos (acts 18;26),
we all are to teach and admonish one another (col 3;16). i repeat ALL
in 1 cor 14;35 the verse talking about women not speaking in the church does not say that women are to be silent in the church and cannot preach. it talks about chatting of women thorugh which they were disturbing the service. in 1 cor 11 paul taks about women praying and prophesying in church so women did speak in the church.
also, infamous jezebel was preaching in those times and she was deceiving people. Lord Jesus was correcting her about deceiving people and what did He say? He told her to repent... of what...of preaching and teaching? No! of her fornication.
in 1 cor 14;26 we read that everyone who comes to the church meeting can serve the church whether it is psalm, doctrine, revelation. everyone is everyone.
also in eph 4;11 we read that it is God who chooses apostles pastors prophets etc. Women are prophets chosen by God and the office of the prophet is mentioned in this verse next to the office of pastor or apostle or teacher. women are not excluded. all the offices are mentioned in the same verses. if women can be prophets they also can be pastors and teachers.
these are just a few reasons women can teach and preach to men and be pastors so stop lying and deceiving people.
