I always felt scared on my epic evo but then I switched to a pivot mach 4 and have never been so confident!
ОтветитьLet’s go I can’t wait to see this new video!
ОтветитьWhere would the Trek Supercaliber (Gen 2) rank for an XC race bike?
ОтветитьI’m also curious how the bc40 compares in 100/100 to the Supercaliber in terms of race speed. Always a debate for me on race speed vs descending capability for everything outside the race tape.
ОтветитьSpecialized fucks you if you get the one down from the top. Frame is much heavier. I don’t know the build kit now but I had to get mechanical xtr. Not XO axis. Not a very snappy bike. Sold it. It would have won my heart if it had axis xo and sworks frame.
ОтветитьI love my scott spark rc pro 120/120 mm. Such a capable bike. All i need is decent wheels and it's going to turn in to a rocket
ОтветитьNew sub to your channel for about a week now.
Anyway, great video! I would choose the BC40 definitely. I don't at all like the kinked top tube. Straighten that B out Allied
Again great video
Great tip re: the bottle shift for the Evo, I went through the 5 stages of grief thinking 2 full size bottles were off the table on a medium frame.
I think it's important for people to consider the Evo base a "third" bike for comparison. In this form, it is decidedly not a race bike. My opinion is that the platform is on the border between race bike and trail bike, and only when you dress it up in premium garb can it truly race capably.
That said, the base Evo is a lot of fun even if it has a few unpolished quirks. To that end, I guess you could argue that Specialized marketed accurately.
Jesse - What would you recommend for someone looking for an Epic/Epic evo - Try to get a epic evo frameset now with the discounts, or hold off another month or so (or whatever it is) until spesh announces the new Epic/Epics? Dont know what info you have, or if you can even disclose anything. But I am in a dilemma where I dont know what to do :D
ОтветитьI just purchased both bikes because without test riding, I couldn’t decide. I get the Evo next week and the BC40, who knows when. Planning to make the Evo a trail ripper and the BC40 a race bike. Cheers! 🤙🏼
ОтветитьDo you use the Epic with torque caps? I find it quite annoying on my bike, i know you can change them to regular caps.
ОтветитьJesse - how tall are you? Do you know your inseam?
ОтветитьLove the comparisons, great video. Please do a comparisons video on Epic Evo and Mach 4SL. I own the EE and love it!!! Waiting for the new version but at the same time looking at the Mach 4SL. Thank You!!!!
ОтветитьWas there a Marji race recap video? Interesting to see what assumptions were made on the build video worked out and what, if anything, didn't
ОтветитьCompletely agree on the steerer stoppers.
ОтветитьAny advice to make to the base evo model more pedal friendly without spending $1500 on new suspension? It's a great bike but I definitely miss the power transfer and efficiency during xco and xcc races. The 3-pos remote setup sounds ideal but ugh it's spendy.
ОтветитьAck! Please don't eulogize the Epic Evo! I just bought mine this year and I don't plan on replacing it for a long time.
ОтветитьI was in debate between BC40 and the Hei Hei CRDL. I ended up going Hei Hei and I am running all Manitou Suspension. That was key. The Rock Shock and Fox Suspension were just awful. I put on Mara Inline in rear and snap the small bump and pedaling efficiency was the best I have ever felt. As for Shock R7 Pro set up on 120. I think the Hei Hei would give both of these a run in my set up. Nice Review.
ОтветитьMan thanks for the video! Would love your take on cross country tires.
ОтветитьJust a fantastic review of both bikes! Thank you. I have the 2023 S-Works Epic Evo and love it. Also I couldn't agree with you more on the steer stops we need them !!
Ответить"It's been raining 4 days nonstop".. still proceeds to ride the slop 🤦♂️
ОтветитьIs the chainline for the Epic evo 52 or 55?
Ответитьhi, what stem, length and degree do you have on Epic Evo? Thanks
ОтветитьYou're riding Medium for both...in that case, what's your height?
Do you think weight would also play into whether you went for a large over medium ever?
I have a deal through a health scheme in the UK whereby i can get 25% off of a Specialised...it seems as if the Epic Evo or the Stumpjumper Alloy may well be the options for me...although, i would like a hardtail for all season riding here in the UK in all honesty, although, the Hardtails available via the scheme don't apear to be all that great, a standard Chisel being about the best on offer.
Specialised report that as a 5'11 reasonably heavyset guy, i'd be best going for an S4 which, in Epic Evo terms i think would land on a large...what's your thoughts on that...do they tend to size you up in their automated assessment utility or is it pretty accurate?
Thanks for any feedback you may have.
Allied is Mde in the USA, just that is worth the few dollars, and it is few dollars, difference in price.
ОтветитьAwesome video and a great comparison, I bought a BC40 last year, and I love it.
ОтветитьLONG LIVE THE GRIP SHIFT!!!!
Funny seeing something that was pushed aside years ago by “rapid fire” shifters still having a place today lol
Why does reducing the shock stroke make the bike faster?
ОтветитьI'm good with 100 in the back but I gotta have 120 in the front.
Ответитьcanyou tell me how tall are you, because a have the same problem as you short legs, and i cant decide the size of the bike. saludos desde sinaloa mexico
Ответитьim 6 feet tall
Ответитьhi I have a 23 sworks evo ..do you think will be possible install a flight attendant kit on?
Ответитьdo you run your BC40 with 160 rotor or 180 mm on the rear thanks great video. I just bought a BC40 for myself and last year I bought a BC40 for my wife's 40th she loved it so so much I bought it for myself. thanks your video help me confirm buying it
ОтветитьJust stumbled upon your channel, being new to mountain bikes here in Indiana. What do you recommend as far as travel size for the trails here. You think the new stump jumper that just came
Out is over kill, or go with an epic. I’m not racing and not really big on huge jumps just want a bike that will kinda do it all
Love the content. You’re a pro reviewer. The choppy edit though, cutting between pauses in your speech, is bonkers. Just let it roll.
ОтветитьWhat about the Epic Evo in a 110mm front and back with the Sid SL 110mm? Any experience or heard of someone who has done this?
ОтветитьBC40 or Epic 8??
ОтветитьDo you have a recommendation for aftermarket steer stoppers? I agree with you, it would be great if all brands included that but for some reason they don't.
ОтветитьHow would you compare the Evo to the Anthem?
Ответить
