When ever I see o-rings being changed I think about when I was a tech for a scuba shop and would service high pressure regulators. I was taught to service regulators by a Mares designer/technician and he was adamant about using the correct tool to remove o-rings. He used dentist pics, he got them from his dentist who regularly discarded his old ones. He said that if you used screwdrivers, nail files etc to remove the o-ring there was a possibility that the metal surface that the o-ring sat on could be scratched and a leak could be formed. But with a dental pic, the slight curve got under the o-ring without scratching the metal. He also said that the o-ring should be lubricated, for Scuba/air, it should be a silcone grease and for liquids the lubrication should be the liquid itself.
ОтветитьSimon says it’s pronounced “Rackor”. I’ve always said Raycor and never got corrected for my error. To my ear, “Raycor” just sounds better. But what do I know?
ОтветитьI notice you used elbow fittings on the galley water pipes. JG Guest is pretty stiff so fittings needed. Polypipe is more flexible (like the early Hep2o). You can often plumb a sink with no elbow fittings. Better flow, less to go wrong and less cost.
ОтветитьSorry. Me again. Engine oil should run around 120 centigrade because it evaporates any moisture that gets into the oil. Cold starts and short runs will allow combustion gas water into the oil.
135 C is the absolute maximum to avoid oil degradation. Fully synthetic is ok to 150 C (300 F). Older engines of course should not be given synthetic oil. It’s too thin and blows by piston rings and turbo seals.
It's pronounced Ray Cor, We were the house Trucker in the 80's&90's for the Export market via Air Freight, wonderful company to do business with!
ОтветитьHa,ha,ha,😂you know why I’m laughing Simon
ОтветитьGreat video , thoroughly enjoyed it , great boat , very fast 👍🏻
ОтветитьLovely solid piece of engineering..especially the Detroit Marine diesels series 6.2/6.5/8.2's. You've got your motor boat looking lovely.
ОтветитьThe boat goes lovely nice to see Ameila how's your son doing these days I liked the underwater camera nice to see the tiny fish was there anything wrong with it afterwards enjoyed the video 😊😊
ОтветитьWhen I was a bargee and used to change the impellers I always included a new case cover as they act as a wear plate and improve the flow of water.
ОтветитьDo you need Boat license in UK ???
ОтветитьAll the kit:)
ОтветитьDo you people have something against gloves? 😂
ОтветитьDiesel bug in fuel tanks ! Add fuel treatment !
ОтветитьIn Australia Gemma is right.! Chris from Western Australia. Chris from Australind.
ОтветитьIn case you don’t know, sand shark is damn good eating!
ОтветитьHow many gallons per yard does that do ,nice boat and engines that one thanks
ОтветитьThat was ACE...
ОтветитьHey you got your hair done up looks very nice. And its not you Simon.
ОтветитьOn eBay or Amazon there are 12 volt pumps for automotive oil transfer that may make the oil change faster and easier than the vacuum pump. Fishing off of wrecks will get you in some big conger ells and other big species as well.
ОтветитьWe always filled our fuel filters with diesel before installing, no need to prime them that way.
ОтветитьMy daddy taught me everything I needed to know about boats. He said, "Son? A boat is a hole in the water that has the tendency to vacuum out your wallet on a regular basis."
Ответитьmaybe they are both as dirty as each other but the dirt come's off easier when it's wetter
ОтветитьSuccess. Caught some fish. Had fun with a cheap underwater camera.
ОтветитьSimon, STOP pickin' on Gemma!!!
ОтветитьGemma, just remember " riighty tighty, lefty loosely "
ОтветитьAs far as I know it’s “RAY cor”.
ОтветитьModern diesel engines commonly run oil temps of between 95 - 105° when running at speed. It's always good practice to write date and hours on the filters when you change them.

ОтветитьNice goin, nice to see Amelia, thanks m8s, stay vertical Eh!
ОтветитьA day on the water, That'll!
ОтветитьWhat happened to yer new carpet? I've had several 6.2 l Detroit diesels in Suburbans and I loved them! Animals indeed!
ОтветитьThose engines sound great!
ОтветитьThat’s an awesome boat guys love it. Well done on the maintenance work you’re spot on with everything.
ОтветитьRay Core filters for my part of the word but then I put my luggage in the trunk, girls wear bonnets on their head and check the air in my tires.
ОтветитьGreat video. Lovely seeing you all enjoying the boat instead of working on it. Unfortunately, with boats it can be all work and no play especially when they are older. She runs lovely, great job. 😊
ОтветитьDefinition of a boat - a hole in the water you throw money into.
ОтветитьUsed to catch dogfish out of Swansea, good eating they are.
ОтветитьIf you live on an island you should learn to live off the sea. Love your shows, keep up the great content...
ОтветитьDoes the boat have hydraulic levelers? If not they will help plane out the boat faster, and maybe save some fuel!
ОтветитьIs there anything your husband can’t do? Yall are the best.
ОтветитьGood Work. Why is the Diesel red?
ОтветитьYou should drain the filter bowls before you put the new filters in.
ОтветитьThank you . I enjoyed that trip.🤗🤗🥰🥰🦘🦘
ОтветитьNext time. Fill up ya filters, first, especially fuel. 😅
ОтветитьБерегите моторы, не надо ходить на максимальных оборотах. На ходить на круизной скорости.
ОтветитьHow many boats do you have..
ОтветитьGood Trip out, are your "Bilges" dry now??
