You’re a good dude, JD. I’m more than happy to donate to this cause.
ОтветитьFantastic work! TY
ОтветитьI enjoy the videos on this channel since I'm into WWII history. I had an uncle who was in the 80th Infantry Division with General George S. Patton's Third Army during WWII, his division saw action during the Battle of the Bulge but he was wounded on Sept. 13, 1944 during the Battle of Nancy in Nancy, France. He was a Private and a recipient of the purple heart during WWII.
ОтветитьWas just there on thanksgiving 🙏
ОтветитьMy grandfather fought at the battle of the bulge but would never really talk about the war.
ОтветитьSo glad to hear the addition of Louis Brown. My uncle was CO of the 3910th QM Truck Company, also part of the Red Ball Express and then attached to the 3rd Army and the first column of trucks into Bastogne for which he was awarded a Bronze Star. I look forward to watching your videos on the tour.
ОтветитьMy late father was there with the US 6th Armored Division. He talked very little about the war, but I still have a few things of his, including his Super Sixth campaign map.
ОтветитьI just donated. I had family in the fight so it was a n brainer donation for me. I love the work you do and the channel. keep up the fight and help us all remember.
ОтветитьAs always, another great video, thanks! Keep 'em coming Sir : ))
ОтветитьRIP to all german soldiers who died in the Ardennes. I don't care about the US casualties.
ОтветитьIs he African or American? i dont get it, what is it with you Americans?
ОтветитьNice, I'm planning going there myself in the next few days, can't wait :)
ОтветитьSad to think that within 5 or 6 years, these old veterans, The Greatest Generation, will be gone. We should never forget them, and their stories should be taught in the schools. Thank you for keeping them alive through your work. My Dad, 15th AAF, 461st BG, 764th Squadron, 51 missions over occupied Europe, shot down on last mission before rotating home, POW nine months. Remember them, and thank them for doing their duty.
ОтветитьR.I.P. Dad. He never talked about it, only heard a few stories from relatives.
ОтветитьMy Dad fought in THE BATTLE OF THE BULGE , was a SSgt. with the 7th Armored Division Rifle Squad at ST. Vith, when the lines changed he lead his men out of enemy line with nothing but a map and compass, and made it back to American lines. I wish he was still here to visit, but he passed June 15,2004 at 81 in Warren, Ohio where we lived, his name is LEE RIGHT orignally from Belington,WVA.
ОтветитьJD you are the best‼️
ОтветитьMy father would be 99. He was PFC Bellos, 99 ID, 393 IR Baker Co. He was on the North shoulder on 16 Dec in his foxhole and he was at the Battle of Elsenborn Ridge helping to stop the German advance. He survived the war and seldom spoke of it. I yearn to walk in his 19 year old footsteps.
ОтветитьYou’re not going to let Mr Brown sit in a truck are you? You know what happened last time.😂
ОтветитьWhat a brutal experience that must have been 😢🥶💀
ОтветитьMy Father served there with the 94th.
He was pretty tight lipped about what he'd seen and from just a couple of his stories late in his life, I totally understand his reluctance to dredge up old memories.
Good luck with the trip, looking forward to seeing how it works out.
ОтветитьA Nobel cause no doubt. Thanks JD. 💯👍
ОтветитьSo looking forward to this one 🤝
ОтветитьJust donated. Thank you for keeping this alive. I went on a Pacific island trip this past March to Saipan, Hawaii, Guam, Peleliu, and it changed my life. My father was on Guam in WW2. Going to this battleground is on my bucket list for sure.
ОтветитьThis is such a meaningful project. I really thank all the veterans and hope they can make it. (For me, this is special because my Uncle Howie gave his life there on Dec. 16.)
ОтветитьAny chance for you visiting Rotterdam the Netherlands? I live here. I would like to give you a tour and connect you to histiorians here.
ОтветитьLike JD stated, this is important for not only giving the veterans an opportunity to tell their stories and for us to learn from them contemporaneously, but for future generations.
So I donated again
I’ve just started Hitler’s Winter by Anthony tucker-jones. Getting into the Bulge vibe already. Thrilled to go back again.
ОтветитьThis is great. Little is heard from these men who served a country that had a lot more to do to live up to being a more perfect union.
ОтветитьMy uncle was in a tank
ОтветитьThanks!
Ответитьpatton's weather pray. i have read several books one said it made up before the Ardennes battle. another one during the march to the Ardenne. which was it?
ОтветитьJD!. I have a stupid question. Im watching a Soome film on Amazon. I have watched your videos for years now. My question is when all the fighting was doomed to happen and the German army built all the elaborate trenches a year and a half before a battle. Why not just observe this and the alliance would simply attack from another safe direction?
ОтветитьMy husband’s uncle was one of the soldiers who fought hard and long at the Battle of the Buldge. He never wanted to talk about it or any of the war. Now a days you would call it PTSD.
ОтветитьMy great uncles were at this battle. Wouldn't talk about it other than my uncle Frank saying they were both there and didn't know it. They've both gone to where soldiers live in peace now. Rest in peace, Uncle Frank and Uncle Harry. Miss you both.
ОтветитьLove this. Very excited to watch. Wish I could have gone back there with my dad. He was there. 99th div. 393 infantry
ОтветитьIN 1944 USA fought against the Nazis and today the USA supports and sponsors the Nazis in Ukraine to fight against Russia for the interests of globalists. SAD but true.
Those boys who fought in Normandy back then are turning in their graves when they see this from above
My uncle Moshe fought in the Battle of the Bulge, I only learned this recently. They didn’t give him much respect, because he was Jewish.
ОтветитьYou mentioned Civil war vets, there are a number of interviews do exist from the 1950-70s with Civil War veterans; both confederate and union.
ОтветитьLove these battle of the Bulge videos my other great grandfather was in this battle and lived through it
ОтветитьJust donated again and I will see the veterans and you in December 15th in Bastogne! Save travels!
ОтветитьLove your channel and the work you do. While I have never had the honour of meeting a WW2 vet in person, you are living the dream and preserving these stories while doing it! I cannot wait to watch these videos as soon as they come out!
ОтветитьMy uncle was captured during the Battle of the Buldge. The Germans captured him, made him strip naked because they wanted his uniform. They laughed at him and left him to die. He made it to a farmhouse where a Belgian lady gave him a blanket and an old pair of boots. My mom told me this but he never spoke about it.
ОтветитьI dont wont to see your face all the time, why do you make a video like this..
Where is the war document.
My grandfather fought in the Ardennes during the battle of the bulge. Red Diamond, Pattons 3rd Army 5th infantry division.
ОтветитьReally enjoyed the video mate can't wait for the next one
ОтветитьMontgomery warned Eisenhower on 28th November about the weak and thinly held American line just in front of the Ardennes. Eisenhower didn't listen. And nearly 100,000 Americans became casualties.
ОтветитьHave you seen any artifacts or locations you recommend related to 69th infantry?
Love your channel, top notch content!
When are you coming to Aachen?
