thor's take is a giant reach around, finding the most fringe excuse to disregard the entire initiative. the point of the initiative is to favour players and at every opportunity he ignores that to defend corporate interests under the "think of the little guy" banner.

Quick reminder if you have an intel wifi chip the bluethoot is pure trash why you may ask? It can only handle 1 connection just 1 not 2 or 3... 1 (some of us use DS4 tool and like to connect 2 controllers intels chip can do 1 controll if you connect a second one it just auto dc intel was gone fix this in there 23driver version but its still not fixed... Bluetooth support on windows desktops is kinda trash compared to osx. I had a external dongle years ago that worked great with my headphones. A month later something changed and I never got it working again. If you get a laptop with bluetooth it is a lot better experience.

Might be the worst casted movie in the last decade or so. Blanchett is great, and I understand that Hollyweird is sexist and agist. But just Because Liam Neason became an actionstar (again) in his older years, doesn't mean it will work for anyone. Blanchett wasn't casted in Thor nor LOTR for her action chops but for her acting chops.

Also, she's at least 20 years older than we've ever seen that character. Acting is about selling an illusion and I'm not buying it.

And Kevin Hart as Roland? I mean... they're both black, so there's that. And who tell thought it was smart to not cast Claptraps actual voice actor for that part?

sometimes i wonder, are they taking bets in Sony to see how many people will be pissed/confused with their products on PC? Why not include everything you need to pair VR set with PC? The same with all functionality of PS5 controller? Are they afraid that Micorsoft will steal their product design if they give them drivers/usb dongle that will work like XboX controllers do? And i know that there are 3rd party apps and steam that do all this, but i would rather have official driver/app from Sony.

Stop killing games is a good idea, and requires some intelligent and thoughtful review.
There are reasons it can't apply to some live service games, but there are a significant number of developments that have used always-online arbitrarily in anti-consumerist ways.
If the only reason for an online component is for license authentication schemas, then they should find a different schema. That said, it's too much work to ask for things to be done by developers retroactively; so we need a solid definition of abandonware, that doesn't rely on the publisher or developer declaring it abandoned, as they'd just find loopholes then. Such as 28 consecutive days where authentications/activations are impossible.
And then make it so that publishers cannot come after the mod communities for finding a way to play their favourite games that meet the definition of abandonware.

Then the sticky decisions about does this mean only those who have already legally purchased the game may play it? (Such as with Quake II RTX, Hellgate Resurected, etc.) And with those two examples, how do we handle the situation where the core game comes on sale again, thus enabling new owners? If the games had been declared abandonware and the community were allowed to distribute, not just make-playable, that would be a real and recognizeable harm to the new release. However, there's no way to know when/or if abandonware will be revived.

I’m clearly not the target audience as someone who always found the writing in Borderlands to be the hardest part about getting through the games, but even so I’m not sure why 2024 would be the year they would want to release a movie based on the games. If they just did it a decade ago it would have been fine lol
