Who would have guess that this wasn't the start but the end.
I sit here a year after the disbandment.
And thinking back, after liam left shortly after this was created, it was all downhill.
We might not have known it until it happened but over 4 years the zaibatsu was being taken down from within.
Like Icarus reaching for the sun, I remember hearing about the ustabiaz and thinking this was going to flourish into a wonderful friendly rivalry between channels, another friend and aquaintance added to the growing list of industry insiders the Best Friends brand had touched and grown stronger for, a launching point to soar even higher.
But just then liam left, leaving a hole and making the 4v4 between channels less enticing as well as taking a toll on morale, then came years of personal changes, the website going down, perhaps growing resentment, and piling disgruntlement towards having to work so many hours a day putting on the entertainers facade.
We truly are on the worst timeline.


The part that hurts me most is all the little things like inside jokes and references built over 9 years never to used again. Sure their new channels might say these things occasionally, but they don't hit the same. It was their co-enjoyment and styles of commentary, and individual experiences mixing together that made every little thing so engrossing, both informative, witty and bombastic, and that haven of entertainment is nothing but a hole I cannot fill now. It really does hurt.

Even after everything, I still come back to watch this over and over cause it's the dopest shit ever

this was the golden age of the Zaibatsu. All friends were here, optimism was at an all time high and the content was at it's absolute best.

Still sad that the best friends disbanded, but I'm glad this moment in time has been preserved.

Been three years, but I still come back and watch this. 4 epic guys who made it feel like you were in the room with them as they played through a bunch of crazy games. I still watch all of them on their own, but everything felt so awesome during this era. Probably one of the best video intros I've ever seen, too.
