Sounds like a couple of morons
ОтветитьI remember this one - not all that long ago - a very unusual accident scenario.
While it's easy in hindsight to enumerate all the errors they committed, what makes it ususual is the multiple indications before and throughout the flight that the captain had a different flight in his head than the one they were executing, and thought they would be flying for much longer, with plenty of time to get set up. Short flights are more challenging than long ones, because you have the same number of tasks to perform in much less time, and flying into Teterboro is always high stress, so you'd think he would take the time before departure to get his "A" game ready, because they're going to be expecting it there - that is, if he even understood that's where he was going. His actions indicate he tought he was flying up to Albany or somewhere much further and more laid back. Obviously by the time he realized what they were into too many balls had been dropped to make anything salvagable out of it, and the only reasonable course of action would have been to inform ATC they're going missed and spend some time in a hold getting set up before returning.
O read the report . Idiots
ОтветитьI would LOVE to hear an interview with the passengers and what it was that tipped them off to drive. I have a feeling it was the foul mouth pilot. Wonder if he was unprofessional in other ways.
ОтветитьAs sad as it is, if people have THIS much struggle with training, they just shouldnt be flying. Im in flight training now, and you can genuinely tell when people are struggling and will continue to struggle all the way through. At a certain point it just becomes unsafe
ОтветитьAlways trust your gut. Those passengers came so close to dying
ОтветитьI am relieved to face the truth about my wish to take flying lessons. Listening to you brought me to the realization that I don't have what it would require. I'm at peace with it now. Thank you.
ОтветитьExcellent debrief
ОтветитьVERY informative video.
ОтветитьI'm suspecting a drug user.....
ОтветитьEgo and self awareness seldom go hand in hand..
ОтветитьYou mean to tell me the 1st officer already crashed 2 time and they allowed him in another aircraft? Bad desition!
ОтветитьIt's only 2 hours from Philly to Teterboro in a car doing 55. What was the guy smoking?
ОтветитьAtleast the pilot flying wanted to give up the comand so many times but the pilot monitoring was just a pain the ass.
ОтветитьOn my third flying lesson, my instructor told me to land the plane, even though I never had the controls in my hand prior to this. So I lined up the plane and descended at an angle too obtuse and too fast . Waiting for further instruction and hearing none, I looked at my flight instructor only to find him paralyzed with fear, gripping the edge of the control panel. I landed the plane with a bang-I think I bent the landing gear. I decided then that flying was not for me.
ОтветитьNone of these bozos should have pilots!
ОтветитьThat's the normal rate for f-words if you are from New England.
ОтветитьAt least we don’t have to worry about these numbskulls endangering the lives of others in the future and thank goodness the passengers had the commonsense to stay on the ground.
ОтветитьAs a non pilot .. I’ll swallow my pride and admit I’d probably be that copilot.. which is why I choose not to flight .. it’s the numbers , sequences etc etc that would jam my mind .. physically I could fly the plane by feel etc .. btw I will say the copilot attempted 4 or 5 different times to hand the controls back before the captain finally took over after it was too late .. unfortunately .. rest well fellows .
ОтветитьHoover , “ the worst mistake a pilot can make is to assume your a better pilot than you really are . “ Hoover , this is exactly why I like your channel and briefings so much , your observations apply to almost every area of life ! 👍👏
Ответитьboggles the mind that any company would ever hire them as pilots, they both had enough red flags prior to this flight they should have been kicked out. sad.
ОтветитьIn your animation the aircraft appears to be no longer in the turn when it stalls. Am I missing something?
ОтветитьWIND WEATHER WEIGHT...VERY IMPORTANT IM LEARNING HOOVER
ОтветитьI remember that day because it was extremely windy.
ОтветитьYour videos are so educational….you are saving lives, let’s hope people that need it are watching.
ОтветитьCaptain was F’en suicidal..😏
ОтветитьLloyd Chistmas wants to know if they had shag carpet glued to the Lear? 😮
ОтветитьTossers
ОтветитьMy lord so basically these pilots shouldn’t have ever obtained their license
ОтветитьCracker Jack pilots
ОтветитьThey sound like they were on something
ОтветитьWatched this for the second time and had to think what was this company thinking to hire people that already had bad evaluations. All I could think when watching this was hit the gas and regroup. I used to take lessons out of Republic on Long Island and I know there were plenty of places to land in the area.
ОтветитьAll the holes in the swiss cheese definitely lined up, sad.
ОтветитьIf you think these pilots are that bad, wait until DEI takes hold!
ОтветитьI wonder how that landing went that made the two pax choose to drive instead...
ОтветитьOnce again, men with monster egos and dismissive of rules and procedures, not to mention a lack of respect for ATCs.
ОтветитьJeepers! Fancy having that little self awareness?? Zero self preservation, surely his brain (if he had 1?) was screaming at him "Don't do it, Don't fly!!"
ОтветитьThis one is hard to take because for me, these guys should have never been paired together.
ОтветитьI fly a lot as a passenger but these debriefs make me question EVERYTHING I thought I knew about airline safety...We actually put our lives in the hands of people we know absolutely nothing about and choose to assume they're qualified to get us up from point A to point B safely and without incidence ...🤦♀️
ОтветитьDid. Not. Know. How. To. Start. The. Engines….get outta my airplane
ОтветитьHolee crap, this was in complete VMC, middle of the day, and they did this? This had to be a freak pair up of dumb and dumber.
ОтветитьSteve-O ?
ОтветитьIf this situation wasn't so tragic, it would be almost comical. Such a shame.
Ответить2014 Delta flight from Salt Lake to Burbank. The new Pilot came a few feet from burying the right wing into the runway on landing. You don’t know pucker factor til you see how fast that asphalt is zipping by compared to a wing about to smash into it. After landing she walked through the cabin toward the rear lavatories. Super cute blonde girl. Maybe 25. Something tells me she didn’t get hired based on meritocracy. Or airmanship. Those aluminum tubes get less and less appealing every year.
ОтветитьWhat a couple of bozos.
ОтветитьAn experienced pilot having simultaneous issues - skipping checklists, disorientation with location, flight time, tower instructions -and ignoring multiple requests by his CP to relinquish control makes me wonder if he was impaired. Toxicology report?
Ответитьyup, i was making good progress but decided that it was more responsibility than i wanted to deal with
ОтветитьThese guys weren't pilots. They were not competent to fly anything other than paper planes.
ОтветитьWhy don't airports have scales like truck stops that can weigh the plane before takes off? Fuel up, load passengers and bags, and then taxi onto the scales. Wait a few seconds to confirm your weight, compare it to the aircraft weight limits, then make a Go/No Go decision. Maybe I should invent a built-in scale system for airports.
