I don't usually thumb down reviews but this was bad. Pick it up and show the ports if 8.1 wasn't finished. Someone should have had a surface 1 in hand to compare or something this was rushed

She is already at the Metro, all she had to do is tap anywhere else on the screen to close the menu.

Computers use the start button to switch to desktop, something the tablet does not prioritize.

Never said it was a launch event, they wanted to show it off. It doesn't make sense to me to announce a product that gives first impression of being buggy. First impressions are powerful. It's harder for Microsoft when the Surface isn't as good as they wanted in the public opinions.

it worked well she just doesn't know how to use it..... the she was already on the home screen when she hit the home button and you don't swipe away the menu bar you touch anywhere else on the screen

heres another perspective, most tablets are cheaper than really high end smartphones of 64GB capacity

Lol She tried closing the Settings menu by swiping it in the opposite direction... That's not how it works. If you want it to go away, tap anywhere else on the screen; don't simply reverse the first motion.
