Are you planning a trip to Iceland soon? The Golden Circle driving route is an amazing way to see some of Iceland's most amazing wonders!
Today we take you to the top three destinations along this route. We also visit some of our favorite waterfalls along the way. We will even go to Glacier Lagoon and see some amazing sites.
My favorite thing that we did while in Iceland was to visit Seljalandsfoss. This waterfall is not only beautiful to look at but you can venture behind the falls for an amazing view of the world through the curtain of falling water.
The Secret Lagoon was another of our favorite stops. This geothermal lake is a great stop for some relaxation. We swam and soaked our tired muscles among the clouds of stream.
The Geothermal Bakery at Laugarvatn Fontana is also a must-see. Here you can see them bake bread right in the ground. You even get a slice of this most delicious bread to taste along with some Icelandic butter!
Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon was another of our favorite stops. This lagoon is filled with melt water from the Breioamerkurjokull Glacier. It is also filled with icebergs that have broken off the glacier making for a magical experience. While here drive down to diamond beach where the ice washes onto the black sand beach giving the appearance of diamonds glistening.
Skogafoss waterfall is one of the biggest waterfalls in Iceland and the amazing thing about this waterfall is that you can walk all the way up to it. You'll be drenched but you can do it!
There is an amazing wonder around every corner making Iceland a destination not to be missed!
