How many times in an emergency do they have to get a plane to go out wide of an airport and circle back around instead of just getting the thing to come straight in and land as soon as possible on the ground and yes I understand directions of runways due to wind conditions but if it's a life or death emergencysurely you bring it in on the simplest path possible
ОтветитьThe Low pressure shaft runs inside the high presure
IF it whould had been an open air way to the back the heat whould had dissipated
Having two jet engines hugging each other does not seem like a good design.
ОтветитьIm loving every video that you have produced. They really are quite excellent and so well done. New sub. You’re a real pro.
Ответить"Goodnight, goodbye! Bye, we are dying"
09.05.1987r., Poland. Ił-62M "Tadeusz Kościuszko" fell in Kabacki forest. They only needed around 40 seconds to airport. Last words were said by captain Zygmunt Pawlaczyk. 183 people died
So, the engine bearings being discussed, the engineers actually used the correct standard roller bearing races that usually have 26 rollers but with only half the rollers in them? Why would they do that? Recycling old worn out bearings and using whatever rollers they could find that were still usable?
ОтветитьIf they would’ve taken the direct runway would they have had time to land?
Ответить"Do widzenia" is indeed used as goodbye, but in this case there's an additional layer of meaning. It could be translated "till we see each other again"...
ОтветитьYour videos are so well done. Excellent every time.
ОтветитьCaptain with 4 engines on fire, what are the winds?
ОтветитьFANTASTIC EPISODE. I COULD NOT TURN IT OFF. INCREDIBLE TRAGEDY
ОтветитьI do not fly anymore
Ответитьsome of the translations from the pilots talking to atc are wrong
ОтветитьSo sad but management ruining engineering selection of components and quality standards are a global problem boeing has nothing to puff out its chests of late.
ОтветитьThey'd have made it if they shot for the military base? So sad...RIP all.
ОтветитьThat pilot fought like hell to keep that plane safe. RIP to him and all the crew and passengers 😢
ОтветитьDon’t like the look of that huge tail.
ОтветитьThe captain made a bad decision to return back to Warsaw airport in lieu of the closest airport
It allowed the fire to burn flight controls
That ultimately led to the deadly disaster
Your videos are absolutely amazing. Very well detailed and clear. Great work.
Ответить"We have fire again"
"You're on fire?"
"Affirm!"
"You're 15km from the airport"
"Thank you"
"Start aproach about 11km to the airport"
"We're doing everything we can"
"(A-!)"
"GOODNIGHT, GOODBYE! TAKE CARE, WE PERISH!"
Flight sim name?
ОтветитьI've recently discovered your channel, and I must I am impressed with your professionalism, but mostly for your humanity. You are dealing with a hard subject, devastating catastrophies, and you manage to do so with class, and even elegance. You're a natural born documentarian. I hope you make it big some day!
Ответитьfucking soviet union they won ww2 but they produce lot of shit technology
Ответитьterrible choices and terrible engineering.
ОтветитьYou are now my favorite airline accident channel. You do such a fantastic job and you obviously do your homework with all the details you include. It definitely shows. Your voice is also very soothing and calm. Keep up the great work and keep them coming👍
Edit: I'm not sure if you've done a video on this crash but Tarom flight 371 is an interesting one
This russian-built plane looks a lot like the VC-10 that I travelled from London to Nairobi on East African Airways several times.
ОтветитьRussian bearings cannot be trusted, replaced mine in kia car for german ones after gearbox failure.
ОтветитьI really like your voice, I find it very soothing. Great video too.
ОтветитьCrazy how calm, collected and professional they were right until the last seconds.
ОтветитьCrazy how calm, collected and professional they were right until the last seconds.
ОтветитьI really feel for the ATC here. He was there helping them and guiding them all the way only for it to all fail right at the end.
ОтветитьThe one thing about this disaster that I will never understand is the decision to opt for an airport farther away. Yes. It had better emergency equipment. But when you are steadily loosing more and more control, that is an option that you don't have. Several crashes for that reason has proven this to be a mistake when you don't have full control or you have a fire that cannot be extinguished. You need to get the plane down YESTERDAY. Also, they always seem to disregard the fact, not only in this disaster, that bringing it down with a greater amount of control might just prevent the emergency equipment being a decisive factor. With things deteriorating this fast, emergency equipment on the ground is the least of your worries. You can think about that when/if you reach the runway in one piece. Just GET THE DAMNED THING ON THE RUNWAY.
ОтветитьWow
ОтветитьI’m a year late but rip
Ответитьbro how many do you need to name bro just say the normal pliots
ОтветитьThey would never see them later….
ОтветитьThose engines are among the best in the world, extremely reliable and powerful. Sadly the polish authorities made a decision for cost cutting reasons to skimp on the quality of maintenance, without proper equipment and procedures. Once the engine failed the captains decision not to go for a straight in approach doomed the plane.
ОтветитьThe saddest part is the fact that the pilots could land the plane on two other, closer airpors than Okęcie…
(*)
Game Name?
ОтветитьWould the plane have made it using the original runway?
ОтветитьEn Soviet Russia, engine lubricates you
ОтветитьI at poland 😶.... But i fly enter air and nohting happens😀
ОтветитьPutting engines so close to each other is a TERRIBLE idea for a plane, no wonder very few aircraft had this layout. If one fails, the other is definetly going down with it. What were designers thinking? Russian planes are death traps.
ОтветитьWe should probably try to keep our engines AWAY from vital control lines in case of unexpected engine failures…
Ответитьalso WHO THE FUCK MAKES THE CONTROL DASHBOARD BLUE THATS SO FODDAMN UGLY
ОтветитьAbsolute fuckup from the staff and the pilots. If a single person from the staff went to the pilots, or one of the 6 (!) pilots went to the cabin, and communicated to them the smoke/flames in the cabin the Modlin or 11 approach could've been chosen.
ОтветитьIt was not LOT maintenance that decided to go cheep, but Soviet IL maintenance where this aircraft went through heavy check!!! Those soviet a$$holes decided to modified to ballbearings without telling LOT.
Polish government decided in an early 80s to purchase B767, against soviet opposition, and got first B767 by the end of 80s just before the free elections.
Please get your facts straight before making future "documentaries"
In that video
Plane that crash in forest you forgot
Lot polish flight 5055
Or anything
