I'm glad you posted your comment. It was from January 1980 (Prince was a special guest on the show that day). You are correct - the song was the first one played that day. When introducing the song, Dick Clark predicted that the decade would belong to Teddy (I remember VH1 had shown this episode!!). If Teddy had not been in that accident, he would have had an even more fantastic career. I love the song. It should have been a bigger hit.

@rufus317 @USMale6499 I agree with you guys, I did remember on that episode of American Bandstand that thay reaired on VH1, that was the first song they played on the first dance segment. Sweet song man! I wish they reaired Bandstand again, haha
