After a government screw up that took 6 months to fix I got a nice deposit into my account. It felt sooooooo good to be able to get all the 150,000 mile maintenance done on my car! Plus I still have a cushion. It's not 10,000, YET, but after months of barely being able to pay bills and nothing for an emergency, I'm able to breath much easier now.
ОтветитьWell said Mary 🌲 £10k peace of mind here 🙌
ОтветитьI was on track to save $20k. Most of my bills nearly doubled this year except my income. I had to stop my large savings deposits.
ОтветитьMy goal this yr was to save 10 k and i did i feel a relief....not stressed if i need it its there plus all cc paid off is a game changer❤..u modivated me mary thank you!
ОтветитьNot at $10k yet in emergency (that's the goal), but having savings has been a life saver!
I just started my financial journey this time last year. ❤
I think having 10k saved in an emergency fund impacts you psychologically too. It just feels a lot better than having 9k saved, even though it's not that much more.
ОтветитьGreat video, Mary! It was a huge milestone to hit 10k! Could feel like I could actually breathe!!
ОтветитьI've saved about 12k this year despite only making around 35k and the impact it's had on my self confidence has been immense. I wish everyone could feel this feeling of peace
ОтветитьHey Mary, now you have to do a video on how to save $10K fast? If you want to, lol!
Ответить10k in the bank does feel good🎉.... I have had two major car bills on the last two months, my car is 13 years old and I recently needed a front wheel alignment, rack replacement and two outer tie rods thank goodness for triple AAA. 10k is enough for a 6 month emergency fund and I hope to one day build it up to 20k which is a bare bones 1 year emergency fund for me.
ОтветитьI agree. The roof was $6,000. The emergency savings took a hit. However, I did not have to finance the roof for 9%.
ОтветитьWorking on it😊❤😊
ОтветитьI earn pretty decent amount of money, less than median in my region though. I can easily save and invest 10 000+€/ year. Still I feel really financial insecure. Sadly 10 000€ in my bank account doesn't give me any peace of mind.
ОтветитьYou are right an emergency becomes an inconvenience. I am not stressed to go to work when sick because of bills
ОтветитьI have been able to get my savings to almost 60k, hope to be at or close to 100k in 3 years...401k hopefully to 200k in the same time period
ОтветитьI don't even make $10,000 in a year.
ОтветитьI made this my goal about 12 years ago even though I wasn’t making much money. I felt everything you said in the video. The first 10 was hard, but I shared my goals with a couple of close friends who also made it their goal. We supported each other, and instead of talking eachother into just treating ourselves to this or that, we talked about why we spend and do we really need or even want certain things.
Going from 10k to about 80k was easy. I had some things come up that made getting to 100 a little hard, but I got there. Once I hit that it’s easier still because that amount of money starts to do real work all on its own in addition to what I’m doing. All of this was in addition to the amount deducted from my check every pay period for my retirement account.
Some key advantages though:
I started with no debt. I don’t have kids. I don’t have and have never had a car. I had a partner with whom I lived (although I don’t now).
I'm saving up to $10,000 I'm at $3,200 at the moment, but it's not for an Emergency, my Credit is for the Emergency, but not with Credit Cards, I mean with "Affirm" who will finance anything, and they do not use Utilization, they do not report to credit bureaus as long as you pay on time, and they give you years to pay back purchases. I'll be at $10,000 in February, and I started in this past Sept, so I'm ready to meet my goal.
ОтветитьAnd once that one $10,000 emergency expense is there you lose your whole $10,000 and then you gotta wait years to save up 10,000 again
ОтветитьThank you.
