My thing is, they were racist, so why weren't they putting the minds in white body's?

I don't agree that they are all a bunch of Republicans. They look very much Democrats, with the fascination, almost obsession with races, trying so hard to scream to the world how much they love black people to show how modern and progressist they are, so they can feel good about themselves... without realizing they are putting people in boxes, reducing them to their skin color as if it was defining them. Basically, typical left wing racism, I would say.

I saw someone noticing that Rose deliberately picked a guy without a family to make things easier but didn't think about the tsa guy, just to add to the comment, I believe she tried to put them against eachother by flirting with the guy.

You’re not normal
What you’ve put me through is not normal
The characters you’ve turned into are barbaric
Return to before I met you
Be the person you were before you met me
Return me to who I was before I met you
Be the person I was before knowing you

Take with you the ones that hate
Get out
Out of my life you never deserved me

My personal favourite detail is the repeated symbolism of the deer, an animal that is repeatedly killed for sport and displayed as a trophy of one’s predatory prowess. As both an omen and a metaphor, every bit of deer imagery was chilling for me.

Not complete. There is a scene at the party in which Rose throws a reprimanding look at a white couple for being to distinct in their wording, something with that stretch. Actually she throws looks in at least two instances (around the 42 minute mark). The whole vernacular English part isn't mentioned. The Lakeith Stanfield character is talking like a stiff posh Brit, not like a brother (the grandmother doesn't understand "snitch"). Which gets very clear when Rod appears in one of his scenes.

I have one question still: what happens to the bodies of the white people once their brain/conscience is transferred to the black person's body? Thinking out aloud because I can imagine why people with severe disability or close to their deathbed would be willing to transfer to a young body, but why Rose's brother? Come on hive mind, deliver me the answer :D

He sees "hidden meanings" that are not there like the dog mask in a picture and misses the obvious like how Rose threw away Chris' cigarette because she didn't want him poisoning the body she's planning to sell.

Great video. I loved GET OUR. The movie takes a lot from BEING JOHN MALKOVICH. Even the actress who performs as the mother in the family is a main character. But especially the idea of taking someone’s body and the old-fashioned video tutorial. And many more things. Its one of the best movies ever. Watch it if you can.

Making a sequel I say is possible, but it would probably be difficult, or then again it may not be. Another family that does the same thing the Armitages did (copycats). Chris wouldn't have a white girlfriend this time.😅

For me, the music in this movie was very reminiscent of the music in Coraline. Had a theory that similar music was used with similar themes (going to a new place that should be safe but turns out to be extremely hostile), and that the music choice was a nod to Coraline and its music/themes

Poor fools libs in the comments. This movie is against you, didn't you understand? Liberal phony good-doery only aimed at exploiting black people 200 years ago with slavery (the Democratic Party was the founder of the KKK) and now with Dem stronghold ghettoes where blacks are left to live in misery and poverty and violence and expolited to harvest votes in exchange for welfare.

I have a question about this movie.
If the Armitage family loved their grandfather and grandmother, then why did they keep the grandfather, who conceived of the entire "lets put ourselves in black bodies and so live forever" notion (maybe he watched Being John Malkovich beforehand, which BTW, stars Catherine Keener)...
WHY is he kept as the groundskeeper doing menial, slave like work ?
Same with the grandmother ?
Why wouldn't they be kept in the house, just, chilling and doing nothing, enjoying themselves?
Doesn't make sense. I think Jordan Peele overlooked that, wanting instead to show the notion of that the family kept black people around working in the same or similar capacity that slaves did on Southern plantations, to show how Chris would react to this.
If my grandmother was by surgical mechanisms and hyonotism etc, reborn into a healthy body I'd be very nice to her, I wouldn't have her out serving me meals and stuff.

i think that rose scene separating cerals from milk is less about seeing white people are separate form other races. it is her ability to compartmentalize her different beliefs and personas when she's around black people to seduce them vs who she really is. she picks up the milk to sip it, which shows one "ideal" is what really she choose one at a time and they never cause any inner conflict within her. we know her character is fine with what the family is doing and has no issues whatsoever in helping out.

i actually would've preferred the alt ending of police coming over to arrest chris. cause it adds even more layer of realism to this when black people try to defend themselves but racism takes over and they are the ones who are painted as the aggressors.

Earlier, Jeremy had said something about how jiu-jitsu was like chess in that you're seeing several moves ahead. Then, when Chris and Jeremy fight, he notices that Jeremy keeps kicking the door closed. Eventually he goaded him into kicking it closed so he could stab his outstretched leg. Chris was playing several moves ahead.
