Hyped to show this to my history class today! Thanks CrashCourse and viral sensation Hank Green
ОтветитьOh and did I ever mention? Thank you! This series is very nicely done.
ОтветитьThank you so much for this entertaining way to view history. ❤
ОтветитьGreece is overrated.
ОтветитьComing back to this after 11 years — I was 14 when they came out — it’s fun to get to think about the bigger questions in this video with an adult mind. Thanks for saying things that went over my head in 2012 so that in 2023 I can get really absorbed in thinking about the historical implications of the Greco-Persian Wars.
ОтветитьThank you.
Ответитьthis is so helpful thx
ОтветитьWhat’s the point of being alive?
ОтветитьThank you for this educational video
Ответитьahhmm... does the person who edits the maps knows History? Greek cities are in wrong locations
ОтветитьThe word of the week is "fart jokes"
ОтветитьThank you guys for these videos on crash course
ОтветитьOh no!... I forgot to be awesome...
ОтветитьBig mistake: you put Athens on the Peloponnesus. 🤦🏻♂️ Love the video, though.
ОтветитьI love how the idea that the Persians weren't cartoon villains is controvertial.
Ответитьi'd rather be persian than greek, persia has spices, greece has yoghurt
ОтветитьThis vid kinda felt like it really was more about ancient Greece than Persia. Still very enjoyable and thanks!
ОтветитьWow this episode was a banger
Ответить2023 anyone
Ответить( The lost And Untold History Of The Kurds ) Book..
ОтветитьI want to hear a history of communism and socialism from this guy. That would be interesting.
ОтветитьHeck, knowing Persia: they may have let them remain a vassal democracy.
ОтветитьWho gets to study Aristophanes instead of actually boring Sophocles in highschool?
ОтветитьI thought Athens changed their minds and canceled the "kill all" order and send a different ship to stop the first order and just kill the leaders?
ОтветитьDude how did you manage to misplace Athens ? 😅
ОтветитьCorrection: 5th century BCE. 4th century is from 399-301 (after the Peloponnesian Wars through Alexander, etc).

Unfortunately, modern slavery continues
ОтветитьDamn, that's lots of globes.
ОтветитьI never knew the word “music” came from Ancient Greek “mōpssphkē”
ОтветитьHello John, sorry to correct some in you video. Darius I didn't be the son of Cyrus II the Great!, he had two sons one of them is Cambises II, he reigned during 7 years and he conquered Egypt, And the other son was Bardiya who reined only some months. Darius I was not son of Cyrus, he was a nobleman from Persian Achaeminid Clan, but he doesn't be part of the kindom family.
ОтветитьPurpose of life: find safety first, then find resiliency, and finally make sure your descendents don't forget the first two.
ОтветитьHe said it only took 2000 years to get rid of slavery, but it still exists?
Ответитьok as a Persian, i was surprised of how villainised we are in the western history because we always remember the great Cyrus as a man who loved justice and his country so much and we respect him so much. so reading history from a western point of view was very shocking for cause i was like? nah we are actually good people!!!!
ОтветитьI looked up weather the Persians had slaves they did. Didn't the Persians burn Athens to the ground forcing them to built a wall out of the ruble.
ОтветитьHistory through a specific guilt ridden lens.
ОтветитьDarius I was not Cyrus's son. He was a distant cousin, I believe, who ousted Darius's actual son Bardiya by claiming he was an imposter and usurped the throne
ОтветитьCYPRUS IS TURKEY
ОтветитьHi John,
What were the differences between Sparta and Athens?
Free Iran 🇮🇷, support from 🇬🇷
ОтветитьShould the Persians have won is so dumb. The Greeks were defending their own land.
ОтветитьEverytime my teacher puts these videos on i cry a little more
