I was waiting for Alex to say, totally character building lol
ОтветитьCody, bro I'm dying, Alex, I'm kinda hungry lol
ОтветитьHeats no joke. - concrete foreman in phoenix.
ОтветитьLove the epic music when Alex is skiing down 😅
ОтветитьBlack cycling outfit in Death Valley. Smart. 👌
ОтветитьWhy women live longer than men:
ОтветитьHeatstroke followed by attitude sickness is a hell of a combo
ОтветитьWhat a fun video! Alex is one awesome dude! Maybe I'll run into him on the trails at RR or Mt Charlie.
ОтветитьWho da fuck bicycles in the middle of the day in death valley... haha
ОтветитьI just worked my ass off to do Mt Whitney in one day and Hannold fn rides a bike 100 miles there does harder mountaineers route, and fn skies down to ride back back. Brah. 😮😢
ОтветитьI worked out there at Furnace Creek 128 degrees average daytime temp in the summer no joke!!!
ОтветитьPerfect - do it the right way. Human power :)
ОтветитьGoobers need to start riding at about 1am not noon. Mountain = dangerous at night desert = dangerous in the day. I learned this in a graduate seminar offered by the math department called: What Happens if Your Computer Breaks and Some of You Nerds Accidentally Go Outside.
Ответитьthat was the most epic sideslip ever
ОтветитьWatching this guy get heat exhaustion was rough. Dumb choice. Super dangerous and he should have stopped way way sooner. Just plain stupid. Totally unprofessional and not a good look.
ОтветитьHeat exhaustion. BE careful.
ОтветитьOn super not day you should wear sleeves with the t shirt. The ”cold” draught from cycling fools the skin to not swet normally. Super easy to to get a heat stroke because your body can’t swet normally. I’ve had it couple of times with the easiest Place. It is quite scary actually
Ответить"Or I'll fall to my death" seems easy for Honnold to say
ОтветитьQuite a lot of stupid, unhealthy and too risky things happening on this video.
ОтветитьI used to race bikes and once I thought it was a good idea to try to ride 100 miles in Vegas in 113F heat, lol I made 40 miles the first try, and 80 miles the 2nd try, doing zone 1 the whole ride
ОтветитьMost casual Alex Honald side quest completion 🗿🗿🗿
Ответитьyeah maybe wearing tight black lichra while biking in extreme heat wasn’t the best idea
Ответитьwearing black in direct sunlight prob doesn't help
Ответитьmaybe the all black kit in death valley was a mistake
ОтветитьWearing all black isn’t helping!
ОтветитьI have ridden my bike from Stove pipe Wells to Whitney Portal and have climbed Whitney in one day via standard route, but not both on the same day. Alex skied quite well for not being able to ski. Certainly not a bunny slope! Why not just glissade down?
Ответитьwhy wear black 🤔
ОтветитьHearing these guys talk about how hard the ride was (guessing up to Whitney Portal) it puts it into perspective what a bunch of mutants pro cyclists are that do the grand tours.
ОтветитьMan I was in same condition; peak summer on a run/hike ..extremely overheated and this inner monologue trying to convince me to lay down, no shade. It was like my brain was warning me to voluntarily lay down or fall down. Be careful out there in that heat!
ОтветитьI'll never understand why he wore black.
ОтветитьAnd this is why you listen to your body kids. When you feel terrible, stop and take a moment to ask yourself if you should continue. Turns out going UP the 15,000' in 40 degree heat was not the best plan when you haven't trained for that.
ОтветитьSufferfest without Cedar?! Pass...
ОтветитьAlso--This is one of the best episodes. Alex is such a funny, effortlessly entertaining dude and I love how it just became him wandering around on skis up on Whitney, like Crocodile Dundee wandering around Manhattan.
Home Run Cody!
This line should NEVER have made it into the 50. 50 WORST lines in North America maybe, haha. The snow/skiing is never good there, sheesh
ОтветитьIt was funny to have Alex ride a bike.
ОтветитьAlex is a hero of our time for, pace, consistency, attitude, pateince and commitment. He IS amazing!
ОтветитьMight be time for somebody to take a refesher on the Wilderness First Responder. (P.S. Kodak courage is a real thing.)
ОтветитьNo shade to Alex, but Marc-Andre is the world's greatest free soloist.
ОтветитьI had one black helmet in my life, my first one, a Vetta Corsa. I thought black was a 'cool' look. It was a mini head oven in the Denver sun.
Skiers, sheesh.
Cody and Alex on Beast mode
ОтветитьGood vid
ОтветитьShould have gone the other wayy😂😂
ОтветитьDat vaxx

Don’t wear black in the hot sun, you won’t have much fun.
ОтветитьI would like to do this same trek, but I would take two or three days to slowly do the biking part, and then walk back down the mountain, not ski down it!
ОтветитьI don't care what technique thatAlex was using to "ski" down thame mountain! I'm just happy that he made it down alive! I don't usually worry about him when he's climbing, but this was different... because he was trying something new!
ОтветитьCity slicker here. Did not look like fun. Jus sayin.
