Industrally plastics have some advantages.. for making cheap single use versons of durable and reusable products that typically would not cost much more to make out of glasses, composites, natural grown materials, or metals

And that to me sounds an awful lot like a cardboard boot addiction in our society.
And I am not talking about thr energy cost diffrences between a ceramic cup and a plastic cup.
I am talking the energy diffrence between a paper cup treated with cellophane and made thick and sturdy for years of use and a plastic cup.
(Cellophane is a wood product.)

Plus, i find it funny how climate deniers and dinosaurs deniers who are usually conservative christians are in the same room but forget the fact that petroleum, oil and plastic comes from dead dinosaur juice. I worked at a company that used an enormous amount of that “eco-plastic” that’s “compostable.” We had our own commercial compost to send ~60% of all our waste that we generated. I’d love to hear a qualified person talk about how that plastic is made and whether composting it is actually a viable option. Also of industrializing compost is a possible solution to the top soil crisis.
