"All the world's a stage" is the phrase that begins a monologue from William Shakespeare's pastoral comedy As You Like It, spoken by the melancholy Jaques in Act II Scene VII Line 139. The speech compares the world to a stage and life to a play and catalogues the seven stages of a man's life, sometimes referred to as the seven ages of man.

Full of wise saws and modern instances;
And so he plays his part. The sixth age shifts

The Seven Ages of Man. I’ve listened to the academics’ analysis. They seem not to be dream analysts that learn to search for the deeper levels. Shakespeare defines quintessential English. This makes me always so emotional and I don't know why. It's so epic. I listened to it a few times back then and I can still to this day quote all of that.
