Picked up a set of mojotone and they are sweeeeet
ОтветитьVery informative on the difference of these pickups. Dylan knowledge keeps things real without the bs!
ОтветитьCan you put individual pole pieces instead of a bar magnet in a regular humbucker pickup?
ОтветитьI dont think the reissue sound sucks at all. My squire classic vibe starcaster rocks. Believe you me.
ОтветитьHas anyone stuffed WRHBs in a Les Paul?
ОтветитьI watched a bunch of these videos last week and meant to comment - I really love the way you explain and discuss and generally chat about the different pickups! Reminds me of the good journalism about music gear we got in the 80s from knowledgeable writers before the flood of opinions and cork sniffing that came with the bulletin board and forums era once the net arrived! Great videos mate!
ОтветитьNovak.
ОтветитьAs a pickup builder myself, Lollar is unrivaled
ОтветитьHi....have you reviewed the Super HiLotrons as supplied in some circa 2017 Korean 5622. How do they compare to Filtertron?
ОтветитьI’d like to hear what a wide range humbucker sounds like… maybe combine with a regular humbucker in the back…🤔
ОтветитьVery interesting 😊
ОтветитьFender pickups SUCK
ОтветитьLove you teaching about pickups 👍
Ответитьcurious about your take on fender's new cunife wrhb pickups...
ОтветитьCan you make a video about Guild full sized humbuckers and mini-humbuckers?
ОтветитьWhat about free range pickups?
ОтветитьWhat if you had one bobbin from a Wide Range or even Single Coil from a Strat or something and one bobbin from a normal humbucker?
ОтветитьPretty cool, I have a MIM 72 reissue. It’s great to play but the sound is not good. It sounds dark if that makes sense? Do you still make replacements?
ОтветитьThe entire reason to get a Fender Deluxe is for those wide range pickups.
Yes they look cool - and boy do they ever!
But if they are just PAF's in there...? My Les Paul is gonna do that much, much better!
No....its gotta be cunife.
I guess ill go Lollar.
Although i think Fender is doing something fantastic noe, in 2023, so... best check that out
talk about a gas bag. this guy and his patterns do nothing for anyone. make up your own patterns and forget this guy.. this is the type of shit musicians do not need to hear. an over idiotic explanation of nothing... on know a piano thing.... the seven feelings...what... babble, babble babble
ОтветитьAlso, Seth lover still had a patent on the PAF and couldn't infringe on his own patent, so he was forced to make something different.
ОтветитьThis was really informative, thank you!
ОтветитьHi Dylan. I just finished doing a a complete refit of an old SG. Refin, hardware, everything. I only had a 250 k pot for the single humbucker just to hear the Seymour Duncan. That pot is crap compared to the 500. What a difference in overall balls. What Ohms value number grooves well with the JB treble bridge humbucker? I have it wired hot with a resistance of 17.00. Thanks Dylan. You Rock!
Ответитьi am super into guitar tech and everyday i learn more but man, calling a unit "henrys" seems like you make shit up on the fly 🤣
ОтветитьVery good Dylan.
ОтветитьSo, is there a way to have a push-pull to the Fender Wide Range without opening the pickup? Or have to open it and solder a 4 + ground wire to the starts and ends of each coil?
ОтветитьHmm i might get a Ride Wange pup
ОтветитьBut they were able to machine alnico magnets for there single coils....
ОтветитьIt came down to who owned the patent at the time. Gibson owned the patent to the original "PAF" humbucker. So Seth lover switched up the design. Avoiding patent infringement was part of the reason he used CuNiFe magnets.
Ответитьi like your vidios ,straight to the point no bull
ОтветитьAlthough it is an “old” video, I like this clear explanation about the difference in the first place, and the fact there is hardly a difference since the reissue’s. Thnx!
ОтветитьThank you for the informative details.I subscribed to your channel. I have a Mexican 1972 Tele Deluxe Reissue. I couldn't afford the expensive vintage accurate CuNiFe pickups so I bought Creamery wide range pups, The guitar went from sounding inarticulate, dull, and lifeless to nice chimey, brilliant, and inspiring guitar compared to the stock Fender pups. I'm playing through a kit Vintage accurate Fender 5F6A (59 Bassman) amplifier. How did the Creamery change/improve their pup design as compared to the stock Fender to achieve this much better sound?
ОтветитьCan you coil tap a legit filtertron?
ОтветитьThe idea of the wide range has merit, just I have yet to see one of those compare to the sound of the original PAF design.
ОтветитьVery interesting technical information.
ОтветитьBuying comments and subscribers is bad man ;)
ОтветитьAny suggestions for a great quaky/honky tele bridge pu to mate with a Lollar wide range hum? I dropped in a Kinman Broadcaster but this particular bridge is way too beefy and don't blend well with my Lollar
Ответитьdude fender fuckin sucks!! lying to my face 😢
ОтветитьGreat pickups
Ответить@dylantalktone would you choose Lollar Wide Rang over Curtis Novak Wide Range?
ОтветитьDoes anyone know if fender Cunife Wide Range pickups will fit into a standard PAF size route and pickguard?
ОтветитьMy '86 re-issue thinline made in japan has the bar magnet also.
Ответитьso nowadays widerange humbuckers and normal humbuckers are the same thing?
Ответитьwant to know what you make of uptown strat!
ОтветитьCan i win that guitar
ОтветитьI measured my original gibson P90 (alnico mags) to 4.4H. I experimented removing some winds to achieve 2.xH, according to some inductor formula, it worked, but I don't remember the exact amount, thoug it was not that much.
ОтветитьI never heard so much technical detail about pick ups. Most of it went over my head but I gotta start somewhere
Cool video
Sir this is a Wendy’s….
