Canon C-LOG vs OWL BOT Picture Profile on C100 mkii

Just looking back at this again.... Wish you would post more! Would love to see some screen shots of how your c100ii waveform/zebras look in different scenerios for correct exposure and how you adjust levels and colors in post to achieve the exposure and "orange/teal" look. Color correction seems to be a bottomless pit of learning and options and would love to see how you and others do it to get good, repeatable results! But given this piece was three years ago, you may have moved onto new gear by now!

Thanks for posting this piece, I’ve watched it several times and am impressed with how good the image looks even when squeezed through YT! I have a C100ii also as well as Owlbot and the Sigma 18-35.

I was experimenting last night with a a stable lighting setup and toggled between WDR and Owlbot. Keeping everything static except changing from WDR to the Owlbot profile waveform level dropped from 65-70% to about 35-40%; or about the same as adding the first level of ND. This surprised me and wondered if you experience the same effect and if it negatively impacts you using Owlbot for indoor or low light scenes.

My Sigma AF can be a little slow. I often use the Canon 35mm f2.8 Macro STM stabilized prime lens which enables face tracking; albeit not up to modern standards. It compares nicely with the Sigma in Sharpness (imo), but no zoom and the manual controls are much less desirable, so it’s best suited for AF use and works well for talking heads.

I know this piece is a few years old. Are you still using the C100ii as your A cam?

Does the C100 II shoot 4K? How did you do that?

bot picture profile on to Canon C100 AND C100 mark ii. I have C100 and
about to purchase C100 mark ii. I am 63 years old and just started
learning about filmmaking less than a year ago. When I read it or when
someone says this is how to install owl bot to your C100, I am lost. I
need to actually see how it's done. Please please make a video on how to
install owl bots to C100. I'm sure many people want to see it. Thank
