Jagex Just Issued Shut Downs to 38 Runescape Private Servers

Private servers are better, only people who play OSRS nowadays are brits with no teeth, and unemployed ppl. Who has 23423423 hours to grind in order to max? Fuck that and fuck Jagex. Project Z still requires membership, why would I pay that BS when i can play a PS for free. Also Project Z you have to still abide by OSRS rules; how tf that make sense if I pay for my own server? sucks for players that have been playing osrs for years and just want something easier and with more updates and unqiue items to spice the game up.. ive been playing since 07 and i love playing the private servers.

They took down one of the best p servers, this is sad, guarentee jagex won't offer a similar experience by any measure.

Yeah, i enjoy rsps because i dont have time to sit there for thousands of fucking hours just to enjoy a game. I play rsps because its fast and you can have fun quick, especially pking.

Sad day, i quit the main game because i have a life and family. Not trying to spend hundreds of hours for a drop or build a pking account. I maxed my account and felt absolutely disgusted on how much time i put into this game

this is because old private server were the shit when 07 went to eoc. now that its going to eoc again in another way people want the old game again... like they always will. with less grind and easier loot.

I don't see project z being any of help if anything OSRS will just fade in the background.

But rsps servers are better. Most RuneScape players are 20+ years old. I have a life and can’t be bothered to play real RuneScape. To even start having fun and getting into real content you need to invest 100s of hours into quests and training. Rsps servers are just as fun if not more fun. Jagex needs to make a pking private server. I would play that.

theyre trying to scare the owners who made a fortune with many developers into self-closing since their life is good enough without needing to earn more from rsps. but beyond that, jagex can do nothing

I have played private servers in the past and some legit servers are very good. I know it is an IP breach and this has been the case for over a decade, but I hope that they can get some sort of resolution. In my opinion, for instance, allow private servers to exist until the project Zanaris is realized. Allow only private servers that are approved by Jagex and the owners have to give a share of their profits they make over to Jagex. I really like the project Zanaris idea, but this will still be a while for this to exist. RuneScape private servers are unrefined RuneScape versions, but they can be a great alternative. This is just a honest opinion, you don't have to agree with anything I said. Just an opinion from a random person on the internet.

one thing i find funny is that of course jagex is in their full right to take down RSPS but it wont bring back players to the normal game,theres a reason the players left for RSPS's if anything it will create more hate towards jagex from that side of the "community"

I played OSRS and RSPS. I enjoy RSPS because its easier to obtain what you want to have fun in the game. OSRS makes everything too time consuming to start having fun. I know a lot love to grind there life away on OSRS but i cba since i play for fun. I have a max account on OSRS though. It's just not very fun to lose my items there pvping lol. I dont pvp to make money. If the testing weapon/gear was open 24/7 i wouldnt even play RSPS.

I'm glad they are removing unofficial private servers, some are nice but fundamentally they are all bad - predatory loot box mechanics and pay to win heavens for whales which is wrong, since gambling laws should be enforced and they are profiting off of an ip they did not make themselves.

RO private servers went through something similar and the server owners made the lawsuits difficult by deleting all game assets. Instead, players would need to manually copy the asset files from the official client into the private server's client.

making accounts permanent ironmen wasnt a regretful decision. we all did it thinking that if we ever needed to in future that we can email and have it downgraded (if you do that L to you) however one day they decided to say hey, we wont do that anymore. hence why they made these changes.
