If you've avoided AMEX (except for co-branded cards) like I have, this is an excellent primer. Very informative and well worth your time to watch.
For me, I've been tempted to try the Blue cash preferred or BCE but I'm definitely going to continue to avoid AMEX. Cash back that you can't use to actually get cash back? Why does Amex lie (sorry, mislead/misrepresent or perhaps "poorly phrase" the information) about such a key point??? And membership points that are worth significantly less than .01/point unless you get them out of the Amex system? How Amex stays fairly popular idk.
Hi Adam, Thank you for what you do. Your content is always excellent. Since you made this video, AMEX has gotten rid of the Everyday & Everyday Preferred Cards. There's no longer a no annual fee, personal Membership Rewards earning card. Can you transfer Membership Rewards points from a personal card to a business card (if you wanted to get rid of your Platinum, Gold or Green Card because of the annual fee)?
ОтветитьCovering the basics should never be overlooked.
ОтветитьQuick question what banks qualify for the American Express platinum car
ОтветитьAlso get MR points if you have an Amex bank checking account! Not a lot but it still gets you MR points
Also there is the Charles Schwab investor card which gives you 1.5 cashback. Not the greatest either but I like those cashback going into my investor account. 😌
Yep
ОтветитьVery informative but you need good thumbnails
ОтветитьThe points game is over. More and more it’s costing 1.5 percent to use a credit or debit card. These credit card people make money by promoting credit card companies. Listen with care
ОтветитьGreat job of explaining clearly how the three Amex reward programs work!
ОтветитьI wish I could justify the platinum, but I like simplicity. Personally I prefer cash back going into my bank account
ОтветитьInformative. 😊
ОтветитьThe thing keeping from going all in with Amex is the fact that their cash back and points cards do not work together, I currently have a BCE and it's great for gas and groceries and the fact of the low exchange rate from converting points to cash. Anything less than a 1/1 rate is ridiculous.
ОтветитьDillards has an Amex card as well but it’s a pretty crummy card unless you want to earn discounts shopping at Dillards.
Macys has an Amex card, a bit better card.
Bloomingdale’s has a card that pays out to store credits works out to 1.5x per dollar in rewards to value.
Then there’s the Schwab Platinum, but not for this audience…
ОтветитьCovering Chase reward program next?
Ответить👍🏻
ОтветитьGreat content as always, thanks Adam!!!
Ответитьnever transfer to hotel pts... just transfer to airline miles like Aeroplan, Krisflyer
ОтветитьExcellent video Adam! You do a good job with these informative videos.
ОтветитьNot everyone is as articulate as you are explaining all three options. Can you do an advance video on the transfer partners program. I need to learn how to get the most out of my MR points. Not looking at once in a lifetime trips but good return on domestic flights.
ОтветитьI ended up choosing the cashback route with American Express. I currently have the Blue Cash Everyday and it's a very good card.
ОтветитьFirst 🎉
