Why everything, why this clip, what's the significance, why did you bother uploading it, I've never seen the movie, I don't understand why you would bother, please enlighten me.

It's pretty random and pointless, I was just wondering what the relevance was but you're too busy jumping on the D. I like a lot of movies but I'm not going to take the time to edit a random obscure clip that has no point or relevance and then upload it for no one to see. You like the clip, you made the clip, watch it on your comp at your convenience, I'm pretty sure you're the only one who cares.

Obviously you care, for one. That's something, isn't it? And presumably the other 48 persons who viewed it.

Houseman - The Master, I have all of the TV Series on VHS... there are some wonderful scenes... But the "S.O.B." scene and what Kingsfield (Houseman) says to Hart .... does take the cake

Restitution: not satisfactory since benefit conveyed would be less than suffered by the boy. Injuction? not applicable. Damages (expectation): maybe, but too uncertain. However, this is all he would get in k since there is no punitive damages in k. Best bet is breach of k couples with intentitional tort to peg punitive onto it. I may be wrong.

I assumed that most of you watching may have gone to law school. I have a question for all. What the hell does "thinking like a lawyer" mean? If you care to answer than please do. I am interested in your responses. try to be specific rather than general when answering. Thank you in advance

I love these scenes of one of the greatest films of all time! I'd love to see the final episode of the cable "Paper Chase" series made several years later (After the CBS-TV version), where Mr. Hart finally receives his law school diploma from Professor Kingsfield. I first noticed John Houseman in a 1975 Volvo car commercial. "No wonder why Volvo cars are built so well. Eighty-five percent of all Volvo employees are college educated. The other fifteen percent are just plain smart!"

Mr.Housman was a co-founder of the Mercury Theatre along with Orson Welles, he also taught acting at Julliard where 2 of his students were Patti LuPone and Kevin Kline, he also was executive producer of CBS' "Seven Lively Arts" series; he also had a cameo role in the movie "Seven Days In May" with Burt Lancaster and Kirk Douglas...I think he did quite a lot...don't you think? For more I would suggest checking his entry in Wikipedia.

I'm 39 hours deep into law school right now. Hawkins v. McGee was the 1st case we went over in Contracts. The discussion was nothing like this, though. To all thinking of going to law school, just don't do it.

I'm saying this because law school sucks, there are too many lawyers, its soooo expensive, etc. Many people here wish they had not gone. Law school is one of those things you can't really understand until you actually go.

I liked the movie, i loiked law school. but happily my law school was NOT like this. I belive the fact that law school dehumanizes students is one reason most lawyers seem less than human, so many people hate lawyers...and so many lawyers hate themselves. We have very high rates of divorce, alchohol and drug abuse, and depression. I am less and less surprised.

Went to a top law school in California and my contracts professor wasn't at all such a DICK. If that were the case maybe sales would have been my profession. Still, being anal retentive is part of the makeup of all law students and lawyers. Liquor and OTC drugs are a relief/hazzard in this profession.

I got ripped by my Contracts I prof. He destroyed me, and at the end of our "conversation," he said to me, verbatim, "Well, we've spun you around long enough. We don't need to make you dizzier than you already are." He was Kingsfield with sarcasm.

Yeah but a few professors at my school will count you absent if you're not prepared in class. They also have the power to affect your grade a little bit, such as turning a B- into a C+...like if you're constantly unprepared and don't contribute anything. But it just sucks looking like an idiot. Although the worst are students who don't know what they're talking about but still try to come off as they do.

Kingsfield was Gangsta! I remember seeing the TV Version when I was a kid and he called it as he saw it. An associate of his made a snide remark about a Black Woman Donna Scott who couldn't answer a question properly . She was in the School due to Affirmative Action although she was a Top Scholar at her College, maybe a HCBU (Historically Black College & University). Charles asked his "Friend" about his Son and did he not apply to Harvard and instead of getting accepted (because of his Father's association with the School) he was rejected because his Scholastic Grade Point Average wasn't high enough, he pretty much told his Friend, "Your Son Should Never Assume that because he's Your Son he would automatically get in). His Friend was furious and stomped out. Another Friend chided him but he knew that Charles didn't play. When Olivia Newton-John's Broth Hugh applied to The University their Father Brinley aka "Brin" was a Dean at, he told him "Don't' think I'm going to pull any strings because we're Family, you get in it' son your own Merit. He became a Doctor and specialized in Cancer Research. Sadly he died as did their Sister Rona of Cancer Related Illnesses.
