Was the AP2 in Pure Video?

The Ace Pro 2 is so much better. On the Pocket 3 everything in the background is out of focus, but it is sharp on the AP2.

I don't like the "cinematic" look of the Pocket 3 and the blurry background. It's only good for looking at your face and when your face isn't in the shot everything in the distance is still blurry. The Insta360 blows it away.

AP2 wins here as allround camera, P3 will also have some advantages but is very limited in use.

Ace pro2 did very well. However, the bokeh is almost reversed. Pocket 3 uses it in the background. The ace pro 2 is still looking blurry around faces. I’d also be worried about WHY insta botched the launch so badly. I don’t trust them enough to hand over hundreds of euros now for an undisclosed shipping date. People who ordered on release day still haven’t got their camera yet. I’m sure you can dial the settings in for better picture quality on the pocket 3.

The only thing I don't like is the jitter that action cams have such as the Action 5 Pro and Ace Pro 2 when in low lighting as they struggle to stabilize and their electronic stabilization can't do a perfect job like a gimbal can... whereas the Pocket 3 is smooth with no jitter with the gimbal. Perfect setup is to have both imo... Pocket 3 for night and when you aren't doing "action stuff"... and the Action 5 Pro or Ace Pro 2 when you are doing filming in action situations or in weather where the Pocket 3 can't take the abuse. So everyone needs to buy 2 cameras... and that doubles the commissions when going through the affiliate links... so an extra bonus as well. :)

given they served different purpose, I would give one point to the ap2 as it's an action camera which is not dedicated for vlogging, but the fact it's close to what op3 can delivers is convincing

The detail on the OP3 is way way better than AP2. Its not even a close comparison unfortunately. But as you said, these are 2 completely different cameras for different purposes.

Traveling lens man has done that comparison already.

What do you think about using a 2 or 4 diopter lens adapter for vlogging on the AP2? I’m mentioning it because many people are interested in vlogging. It could be a solution.
