For me Eragon is the second place. It is a great series, there is no movie and the Story really pulls you in

Don’t really get how they consider Sanderson as a FAN of the WOT series as if he never wrote even a single book…
Also none of his very own works are on this list, seriously….
The only ranking that I (anyone who reads fantasy) accept is that of the LOTR’s.

My favourite is the Riftwar cycle series of books 30 in all by Raymond E Feist.

This seems more a top ten list of fantasy books where we can find movie clips for to use in this video. But as fantasy fan my list would be different. 1. lord of the rings 2. wheel of time. 3. stormlight archieve series. 4. mistborn series . 5 elanthris 6. witcher series 7. darksword series. 8. legends of the first empire and its follow up riyria series 9. harry potter series and 10. dragonlanche series. If anyone can recomment more fantasy books please tell me because I love fantasy books :)

Scarlett lost in the five lands by rajendra sarilla should be on this list. Its about a fifteen year old warrior princess called scarlett that ends up in a different world where society is divided into four races based on skin colours - blue, pale, brown, and silver. What i loved most about the book were powerful female characters and brilliant action scenes. It's a fast paced novel with just 170 pages. This book is so good that it may become a big hollywood movie in future if it gets enough attention. I read it on kindle since paperback was not available in foreign countries.

J.R.R. Tolkien had started it all. Considering him as the father of modern fantasy, many authors like George R. R. Martin, admired his work and is also inspired to write ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’. Most importantly, Tolkien is the one author to rule them all. He deserved it.

I feel like they kinda just based this off mostly of live actions adaptations rather than the actual book series.

I have read George R.R. Martin's books and love them on a unrelated topic I have read Frank Herbert's Dune books and absolutely love them to 2023 will be my first time reading the lord of the rings trilogy I have heard nothing but glowing reviews of the books I watched the movies and they were fantastic so I have no doubt the books are going to be great so looking forward to starting and completing that trilogy in 2023.

Ngl, rewatching this after all these years, apparently people were a bit hasty with claiming how influential ‘American Gods’ would be. It was a good book series but there have been many since (and even some on the ‘honourable mentions’) that have had a greater impact on the the wider fantasy literary world

Look, I get it and I agree. Numbers don’t lie that Harry Potter and LOTR absolutely deserve to be #1 and #2. But Percy Jackson will always be the number one for me. It just feels like home.

LOTR is definitely number but Narnia should at least be in top 3

Is the Wheel of Time a good fantasy to read? I want to start reading a new Fantasy series. I have read almost all of Tolkien, All of Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, and a dragon book. I think it was Eragon. And some other stand alone Fantasy novels.
I just want to know if The Wheel of Time is great for a Fantasy fiction fan like me
