The Honda Civic RS may lack the power of the US-spec Civic Si, but it’s the only trim in Japan that offers a six-speed manual gearbox.

Honda Civic RS Debuts In Japan is virtually indistinguishable from its concept unveiled at the 2024 Tokyo Auto Salon. Both models feature the same striking redesigned bumper, which is now standard across the Civic range. However, the RS variant sets itself apart with a series of distinctive elements. Special emblems, darker trim, and black 18-inch wheels add a touch of sportiness, while functional tailpipes at the rear further emphasize its performance-oriented nature.

Honda is preparing to spice up the regular Civic hatch – and give the Type R an understudy – with the six-speed manual RS, but it appears to be a Japan exclusive.

The gap between the regular Honda Civic and high-performance Type R may finally be filled in right-hand-drive markets with a new RS model, unveiled as a prototype.
