I wish someone from the movie joined you as a narrator talking about filiming and sharing memories, maybe Mrs.Jennifer Grey herself, that would be magical. Imagine that. Anyway, thank you for a wonderful tour through memory lane, the last few minutes of the video I cried like a baby, it felt like losing something or someone, this kind of transcendent effect this movie had. As a side note, I feel like the location looked better back in 1987, the changes they've made has taken away a little part of its organic magic from this in my view.

I am a Dirty Dancing fanatic! I’ve been to all the Lake lure locations and I mistakenly was filming the wrong steps! Thank you for clarifying! Can you tell me where was the waterfall where they did the dancing on the log scene? I’m so curious thank you for this amazing video!

Is the waterfall public access or on private property? If public could you post the gps coordinates?

Hey, it's just an idea, but it looks to me as if at some point in the past the lake lure was closer to the main house and to the bungalow and when the complex was built there was no meadow, but a bay with water, so that the windows from the restaurant also had a direct view of the lake and the bungalow may have been right on the water.
That means, the water edge had already changed at the time of filming, I assume.

I can also very well imagine that the platform, the pavilion (gazebo), actually stood romantically in the middle of the water of the lake and was accessible from the shore either via a footbridge, a kind of narrow pier, or from the water by boat through it open side.
I don't believe that there was a sandy beach on the shore of the mountain lake, that it was added by humans after the water had receded.

Do you know anything about the history ( before filming ) of lodge, lake and boyscamp?

Too much a regurgitation of the vid done by the L.A. Beast. I was hoping for something different.
That said… excellent camera work!!! It was crisp, clean and in high definition I loved that about it.
I personally found the drone work to impersonal for the subject matter seeing as anyone interested in locations from the movie , and It’s the kind of movie that takes you in and it’s intimate, would find drone shots take away from that too much. For me anyway.

It's surprising they shot the dance hall / ballroom scenes in the gym in NC. Generally that sort of interior shooting would be done on a sound stage.

I had just watched your video literally weeks before Helene hit western NC. I live about hour and half away from Lake Lure. And we were just so fortunate here. Everyone has been in my thoughts and prayers. This is, by far, the best filming locations of Dirty Dancing.
