Damn, I thought my axel nut was getting old.
ОтветитьMy Honda odyssey didn't have that
ОтветитьWhy some cars from your country are so rusty ?
ОтветитьThat back and forth motion is helpful for a lot of stuck fasteners. Motor oil after it gets started helps.
ОтветитьWhat cotter pin?
ОтветитьHonda accord is just as fun. Just make sure you break off the tip of a screw driver in there.
ОтветитьSome use a cotter pin. Others have a staked nut.
ОтветитьTip: put a screwdriver through the caliper and inside the rotor to stop it from rotating
Ответить👍
ОтветитьI have stocked up on wire brushes because of you. Thanks brother
ОтветитьWelcome to the northeast.
ОтветитьMan F living by the coast 😐
ОтветитьUr a sharp pencil
ОтветитьWow..Never saw that one that corroded
ОтветитьIt should be noted not all axle nuts have cotter pins, some are staked and some have locking nuts.
Ответить2nd rookie mistake is grabbing that hot nut😂
ОтветитьNow the axle is stuck to the hub. Part 2 coming
ОтветитьJust the tip😂😂
ОтветитьHow tf do you get a socket on there with the cotter pin still in place?
ОтветитьThey are called split pins by the rest of the world a cotter pin is totally different
ОтветитьGood Job
ОтветитьGreat
ОтветитьVery good sir 🤙❤️
ОтветитьIs PB blaster your go to penetrating oil?
ОтветитьMy rookie axle mistake was NOT BREAKING LOOSE the axle nut before I lifted the wheel/car off the ground. I was jumping on my breaker bar trying to break the nut loose and not realizing I was basically jumping on my flimsy parking prawl/pin inside my transmission. A little blow torch helped get it loose, but I learned quickly the next time I replaced an axle on my BMW that I needed to break the nut loose while the car was still on the ground. Definitely a rookie mistake😂
ОтветитьI am not a mechanic but find your tips and insights to be very interesting. Great work, thankyou for the entertainment.
ОтветитьT 1 bon 👍🇫🇷🇲🇦
ОтветитьRust makes my day lol 😮😊
ОтветитьIs that nut castellated or not? If not, no cotter pin.
ОтветитьMr. Penetring oil again
ОтветитьSmart
ОтветитьDude that axle looks like death.
ОтветитьLife was hard before we had cordless impacts
ОтветитьI thought our NY rust was a problem...
ОтветитьIts not an axle, its a driveshaft FFS!
ОтветитьYour right i did forget to remove that damn cotter pin. Thats amazing. In my opinion ever vehicle should come with a breakerbar. You're thoughts? Its also great for defense. Lol.n
ОтветитьThere are no threads on the end of the axle in the video, so at worst, it might damage the threads on the nut🙂
ОтветитьHas been parked in the sea for 19 yrs??😵💫😵💫💪🍺👍
ОтветитьA+ brother, A+
ОтветитьOoogggaa doogaa to the rescue
ОтветитьUse the right finger to point out things
ОтветитьNot every CV axle has cotter pin. Some just use plastic/teflon washer inside nut that acts as self locking nut.
ОтветитьLooks like he got a pad slap.
ОтветитьDon't be so scared of the cotter pin, they're softer steel for a reason. The impact will most likely just shear it off.
ОтветитьThese videos are sooo valuable. Thanks so much, Bryan!
Ответитьgot it!!!!! yes sirrrrr!!!!
ОтветитьGod look at all that rust, I'm so thankful to be a mechanic in Texas where it might get up to 115° but at least there's almost no rust. I hope y'all use a different labor guide to make up for the rust damage. Sometimes we have to turn customers away because of the cancer (rust) that has eaten holes through everything.
ОтветитьI always forget to replace the cotter pin after I drill it out 😢
ОтветитьThe few older CV axles I worked on didn't use cotter pins, just a properly torques axle nut. You learn something new everyday.
