This video is crap, I thumbs down it, they don’t care about that anymore. People please! Go fishing or something.
ОтветитьI currently have blue hair good to know what vibes I’m putting out
ОтветитьSasuke Uchiha had blue hair
ОтветитьCaitlyn Kiramman in Arcane also has blue hair, as well as Jinx. I know their hair colours were chosen more than 10 years ago for the game (and her hair is natural and genetic in runeterra), but it’s still interesting to consider your 3 blue hair archetypes in respect to Cait. I think the one she most fits into is the misunderstood outsider/rebel, with her denial of Piltovan social norms. The darkness of her hair compared to Jinx also may represent her cold calculating and analytical nature. It is also used by the writers to draw a parallel with Cait and Jinx, who are two sides of the same coin, so different, yet so similar.
ОтветитьBlue is defiantly my fav hair colour I've gone.
ОтветитьWhat I want to know is why Republicans get so triggered by blue hair😂
ОтветитьI always had a soft spot for blue hair but I always have a soft spot for anyone with a personality, whether they dye their hair or not. I've had green, black and orange hair in a crest for over a decade now. I've heard every "oH yOuRe nOt aS oRiGiNaL aS yU tHiNk yU aRe" a thousand times or more. Yes there are posers going through fads, but the attitude of being more straight and dull with only an inward "rebellion" is as much as cliché as dyeing your hair. I'd have had a different response to that line in SLC Punks than Stevo did! Nice comment on the hair colour trope anyway 😉😊✊
ОтветитьOnly watching this because I have electric blue hair and want to know what it means 😅
ОтветитьI was an angry, sad kid in black clothes with a blue mohawk in high school. Now 22 years later i cant find good dye. My wife says im an eeyore/owl.
ОтветитьSo basically they have nothing in common 😂
ОтветитьAll well and good, but blue hair AND multiple facial pearcings in reality tend to indicate mental heath problems and often a propensity for verbal violence, even actual physical violence in an effort to solidify a delusion
ОтветитьAmerica, where people need SADGURLs dumbed down with them
ОтветитьThe different volumes of your tracks are a little tiring, and I absolutely missed a spoiler waring for Arcane season 2 :/
ОтветитьMany years ago I read about the "meaning" of anime hair colors and why they are used to differentiate characters. The designs of Japanese characters were made visually distinct, just like western characters intended for easy consumption. Yet, they often have more of a defined color equals this or that aspect. Also, the use of BLUE to be a colorful version of BLACK hair is well established. Additionally, the use of UNNATURAL colors, blue, green, and purple versus NATURAL colors, red, yellow and orange are just like the video states... to make the character unique in visual cues.
In eastern media, blue hair is very often the most indigenous character or embodying the most culturally representative or traditional character - the one with the most BLACK hair, but in color.
In western media, blue hair is very other the more unique, convention flouting, or whimsical character - the one with the most UNNATURAL hair color while still being a colorful BLACK variant.
I have gray blue hair. Just discovered your channel. Excellent niche topics that are well researched and intelligent.
ОтветитьDeep diver has helped me make so many characters. These videos genuinely help me write better, and I have a lot more fun doing it.
ОтветитьIn fiction? Whatever this video says is probably accurate.
Real life? Mental illness.
😁👉🖕👈
Surprised you never mentioned Caitlyn Kiramman. Although darker, her hair has also always been blue.
Ответитьas someone with blue hair. This was so interesting.
ОтветитьI watched the entire video and it's funny to see that even without realizing those characteristics match me too. I started to dye my hair blue at 12, switch colors once in a while but blue the closest to "natural" to me so I always go back to it. I have blue hair for longer than I had my natural hair color, I'm 25 now. It's comforting and feels like me. It's weird to think of myself without the blue hair in the future. If it's our subconscious or creativity that chose blue as such it's debatable, but it sure does make sense to me.
I love this kind of content ♡
Aja leith the hologram band member and stormer of the misfits
ОтветитьYou should see the blue haired lady from mulholland drive, she hardly gets screentime but her appearance is so eerie and ominous along with the overall aesthetic of the movie
Ответитьno rei ayanami mention :(
ОтветитьMy blue hair matches this video so much
ОтветитьI always joke with my friends that I’m afraid of blue hair girls. But I’m not it’s just hair.
ОтветитьReally cool analysis on blue hair! I like that some visuals correlate across media, but others do not and are used in relativity to their own story.
I will say, though... Some of the cartoon character you picked out as having blue hair seem--at least to me--like they just have black hair or white hair in a couple of the examples. But the color is chosen within a blue palette for visual design purposes, so it looks blue. But maybe even THAT is representative of blue hair itself within the palette, even if they are supposed to have black/white hair. Interesting!
Musa in the Winx club has blue hair, her mother in one episode where they "Winx" have to choose between their deepest desires and the path they have to take in their powers as fairies we see her Mother has the same blue colour, making it genetic, she is not "girly" like her friends, she's tom-boyish in her dress sense, having being affected by the passing of her mother, she's a bit of a loner.
ОтветитьRaine Whispers from the owl house!! They had to push away their loved ones(isolation), and they literally lead a rebellion:D
ОтветитьThis is a fascinating essay. I've always been drawn to blue hair, and have dyed my hair blue off and on for decades at this point. I realized at one point, because I'm a woman with ADHD and Autism, I was using it as a tool. My differences are invisible, and I discovered that one of the things that hurt the most was the crestfallen look on someone's face when they realized I'm different. "Oh this is an exciting person who is talking to me! oh, wait... no they're just weird." So by deliberately having an unnatural hair color, it changed my interactions. People could visibly see that there was something different about me, and either it would increase their desire to talk to me, or push them in a different direction. When I was mentoring a bunch of ND kids, that was the advice that I gave that got the most positive feedback, and it's so deceptively simple. It's a visual indicator of difference, and an easily legible way of communicating it.
Also, it's pretty. :)
Miraculous Spoilers ahead - This is an amazing analysis but I would expand on Marinette from Miraculous especially with the new seasons. A lot of the comments talk about the side of self discovery which we can also see with Marinette as she figures out whats important to her in the realms of fashion and/or being Ladybug. Theres the obvious whimsy as it is a show with the miraculous being magical. Then the sadness in the recent seasons as she hasnt been able to pursue her love life with Luka (who also has blue hair, and also fits in the triple ven diagram), and more recently with the reveal of Hawkmoth
ОтветитьSALLY FACE NOT MENTIONED?????
ОтветитьI’ve wanted to dye my hair blue and ofc the first frame of the video is jinx😭
ОтветитьBPD and ecstasy conceited with her self esteem shes a teenage dream if you hate yourself
ОтветитьIs it wrong that whenever I see someone with purple hair, I ask "How long ago was the breakup?"
ОтветитьIt’s a good indicator of PD or Fibromyalgia 😅
Ответитьas someone who has been partially dying my hair blue for nearly 3 years now I found this super interesting! I tried many colors before I settled on blue but I ultimately chose blue because it suits me/my eyes best so I never thought about its portrayed meaning in media- super cool!!!
ОтветитьHi! I would love you to go deeper with this! It felt a bit like just a list of the characters. The topic itself is rly interesting!😊
ОтветитьI NEED to dye my virgin hair
ОтветитьTLDW: the author is a college girl who dyes her hair blue.
ОтветитьWhile i agree with you about a lot of subjects you bring up, the main love interest from Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind is just not a manic pixie. It's just like how people also think the love interest from 500 days of summer is also a manic pixie. No, in the guys' eyes, these women SEEM perfect but when you watch it for real and dissect the women as a viewer, they are more complex and very human with lots of flaws contributing them to being incorrectly put in the manic pixie dream girl category.
ОтветитьGo watch anime. Blue hair ranges from "I do ice magic" to "what defines a soul"
ОтветитьThe irl symbolism of blue hair is that the person is mentally unstable
ОтветитьCan you do purple hair next?
Ответитьwhy not talk about caitlyn when mentioning arcane? what a shame, could’ve been interesting
Ответитьas someone who has blue hair all i have to say is: correct. yes. uhuh. indeed.
Ответитьthe symbolism of blue hair is actually pronouns /j
ОтветитьHow it started: blue hair sign of alternative interests in goth, punk, etc.
How its going: sign of wokies and karens looking to be offended some way and somehow.
I'm a RLLY big fan of Steven Universe, Coraline, Life is Strange, the Disney fairies, and more, so I rlly enjoyed watching this! 😄 I kinda wanna dye my hair blue now with how much I can relate to their symbolism
