Lauren, I’d like to see you paint the undersides of your furniture as well. It truly would be a very nice, professional way to finish your beautiful furniture.
I know that I would not want to buy a piece of painted furniture if it were not completed.
It also protects the wood as well when you coat it this way.

Happy I watched this, I've pretty much given up on a vanity I'm doing for my daughter because I don't like the top coat finish on it . I'm giving it one more try now.

Love it without the glass

Hi! First off I wanted to thank you for all that you do in your page, I’ve been learning a lot from you since I found it a little while ago 💜 Now, I love the flip, but I was wondering if you think/know if you had issues with the streaking due to you not sanding it first? Maybe a stupid question, but whatever… lol.

Your bookcase looks like one my parents got when they bought encyclopedias back in the 50s. There's was a dark mahogany color.

Love the result and the solutions you suggest for the challenges. Just a suggestions....if you wish to conceal the cords from your TV there are material covers you can buy or make. Otherwise....cannot wait to see the complete reveal.

Love your creativity. I wish you would paint underneath each shelf too!

Great job! It's a nice piece & adds to the room. I am thinking the sliding glass doors added to the uniqueness/cool factor of the piece, but I certainly understand why you decided not to use them.

Looks great. As a final touch, pick up some used books from thrift store and put them on the shelf. You can lay them horizontal and vertical. You could even shop for books that are a certain color on the outside. Ads a pop of color and interest.

Do you think that all the problems could be from not sanding it first ? Where’s the glass ?

I have the exact problem with that particular clear coat. Just not a good product

I hate painted furniture. I think it is incredibly tacky.

Can I please Ask a question? I have been watching your videos for over 10 months or longer. I need to find a place on the computer that I can transfer a picture of furniture of redone and sold I want to add paint and certain notes. I have memory issues so I need a spot to put what I have done. I really cant afford too much to buy a spot Any suggestions.. I had to rewatch this video to see if you showed the same view as the bedroom reveal. You did not. It was edited in a way you cant see the sloppy lines under the top. You should have edited that video the same way. Looks great except for that detail. Ive been watxhing since the beginning. Hope there arent any hard feelings. I love you guys. Was just surprised to see that.

Love the color, but I would have painted all of the interior areas. It looks unfinished with the tops sides of shelving and underneath part of top left unpainted...

I think the glass was great, but I understand your position. I wonder if you could get plexiglass instead.

Pretty color on a classic piece. Just a caution, do not sand something in your lap, especially on bare skin. I received a pretty bad sanding burn doing that when I knicked the skin with the edge of the spinning sander. It actually bled and took a couple of weeks to heal.

I usually don't mind painting stuff, but this little unique blonde bookcase was in such good condition and so iconic Atomic 50s. Cutest left blonde w/doors. Just my opinion. I have one exactly like it with a poodle collection in it.

I think you should add a few books, 2 westerns, 2 romances 2 mysteries, 2 books about Nebraska, 2nd hand books

I am hooked on all in one paint like melange . Sometimes its worth waiting on it to come because of the convenience of top coat built in.

Is there a particular reason you didn’t paint the back and the ‘roof’ underside of the shelves? Or just coz you won’t see it?

I believe this looks more like a little book shelf without the glass in it, which is cute for sure and I know I'm being "that guy", BUT I do feel like the uniqueness is gone and is no longer as special looking without the glass. Makes me wish you found a cool book shelf for the room and still flipped that piece while keeping the glass for a different room or to sell. There was really no point in saying this. Maybe I'm just a party pooper.
I'll see my way out.😅👉

6 o’clock. Beautiful cabinet. Your sunroom turned out nice but a bigger rug might make a boulder statement. Thanks for talking about your mistakes and how to go back and repair them When you’re painting furniture. You guys are awesome.

That TV is waaay too high! It should be eye level while sitting (bed, chair, sofa).
I'd put the glass back in the bookshelf but it's not like it's a designer/solid wood piece so it's whatever. Great for an AirBNB though! ✌

Beautifully done, better without the glass, more modern and yes safer. Baskets on each side with extra blankets and or pillows and a plant on the other side would balance with the TV above. Perfect well done, love the color.

Won’t a tiny bit of Flotrol added to the top coat eliminate the streaks, even when painting with a brush?

I like this piece Lauren! I love that you make mistakes and sometimes struggle with products because it shows us that it doesn't have to be perfect and that there is usually a way to work around those times.
