Impressions - Wade & Butcher DE Razor

A slightly different format this video. This is not a true hardware review because the razor is vintage. We will call this an impressions video.

Anyhow, I present to you this beautiful vintage Wade & Butcher safety razor. The consensus in the community is that these are pretty rare. They typically retail for over $100 on eBay in good condition. According to the few discussions I have found in the shave forums (http://shavenook.com/showthread.php?tid=25660 and http://straightrazorplace.com/show-tell/62804-recent-gillette-wade-butcher-de-finds.html) it looks as though this razor is dated somewhere between the 50's and 60's and was likely manufactured in Jersey City after Dunham Duplex bought Wade & Butcher.

Interestingly, the razor accepts a proprietary blade, which was thicker and curved as well as having a different pattern to secure the razor. This meant in order for me to shave I had to modify a modern DE blade. Here is a link to the template I built (http://imgur.com/w97gRA2) to modify a DE blade. This should save anyone else loads of trouble if they happen to find on of these in the wild.
