And Jamie, I have thought this for a long time just haven't really posted it yet but I have to say thank you. Thank you because these are skills that should be absolutely mandatory and students should have to go through this their first year in middle school at the latest. I work at a law firm as an operations manager and get paid insane amount of money for working 3 hours a day. The reason this is the case is because nobody knows how to use Microsoft Office. It took me a week to set up Excel and the majority of time that I spent working is correcting improper data inputs and minor alterations. Everything from a technology standpoint is completely lacking from the lowest person on the pay scale to the highest.

They think that I'm an absolute genius when in fact I only have a GED. The only reason I am so efficient is because I chose to learn how to use the tools that are available in every single office. I used to be in fear that someone else would come along and take my job but have yet to see anybody that has the know-how to do simplest of things like utilize the features in Excel for anything other than Autosum.

You sir are doing a wonderful thing educating people on something that will be one of the most important things in there career or even day-to-day life. And anyone who sees what you are doing and knows the importance of it thanks you. 🍻

When it comes to alias addresses and delegated email addresses, is it possible to not have the alias address messages show up in the delegated mailbox? For example, we would like to have a shared customer service address, but then use alias addresses to communicate within our company and for other needs. I have figured out how to delegate the customer service email address, but we see the user's alias email address messages in that box. (The customer service address was originally assigned to her as a user. Now my company has grown and I am trying to figure out how to best manage.) Hope this makes sense.

Thank you for the awesome advice. Can you use your "temporary" shopping email forever? Or is it temporary? Is it safe to use it when you register in some shops and use it as login email and such? As safe I mean, it wont randomly get deleted? Imagine you made an Instagram account with that alias email for example.

Is it possible to access your Gmail account using an alias email ID while employing(using) the password of your primary (original-i.e default) email ID? If this isn't feasible, I believe it adds a significant layer of security. Essentially, even if someone discovers your alias email ID and the password for your (original-i.e default) email, they would still require an additional crucial piece of information - the actual address of your primary email (original-i.e default) - to gain access to your Gmail account. What are your thoughts on this?

You confuse by calling this Aliases. They are NOT proper alias. First is linking another account, and second is exposing your original e-mail. A proper alias e-mail does neither of that.

This is the first time I have seen a + as the aliases modifier. All I have noticed people say is to add a period. I know that is wrong. Gotta love real information when I get it.

This day and age an alias is only good if a site gets hacked but still doesn't replace the end user. You are only as secure as the end user, if the end user knows how to spot a phishing email or spam they won't be susceptible to hacks. Also using a good password manager with hard complex passwords along with only having to remember your master password and your main email accounts password that don't get used anywhere you can't go wrong.

This not a true alias. It look like you have to create another complete gmail email that didn't use your real name or anything personal to you (birth year, street name etc...), then go into your main account and use that new second email as "main" email and click "alias." Despite Google's marketing, this is not a true "alias," which masks you google email or your google account. Lets be clear, Google is still going to collect data and this is still connected to your main account. To get a true alias, it looks like you would have to use a paid service like Simple Login (I am not assoicated with them). If you at least look them up, it explains what a true alias is. Also, if someone wanted to use the route you are suggesting, you did not use a step-by-step guide. I had to sort of piece together what I think you did.

It doesn't work with hotmail email accounts. Gmail prompts for an SMTP server.

This no longer works. Gmail does not deliver a verification code, it just delivers an "Address not found" email. There's no way to verify an alias on an existing FREE Gmail account unless you use a custom domain email, or possibly set up a completely NEW Gmail account under your desired alias, which isn't an alias, it's pretty much just a forward from another account.

is there a way to assign to all alias logo?

Some days i can easily access my gmail but mostly it is locked by google. I am not going to bother with Gmail any more. It is not convenient to be verifying each time. My phone is garbage and i can't afford another. So thumbs down to Google.
