i also think part of the reason people sometimes don't try to save carley is - for players like Hasan who don't realize this is the first "whoever you don't choose IS going to die" kind of choice, in direct contrast with the duck vs. shawn choice from earlier in the game - doug's predicament seems WAY more dire. He has no weapon, and is being pulled through a window from behind by multiple walkers. carley has a gun, isn't too far from her purse with the ammo, and has a single walker kind of gently pulling on her leg, LMAO.

imo, the severity between their circumstances does not come across nearly as equal as i think the game wanted it to. i also think a lot of people probably didn't choose carley because "woman bad," but i do remember feeling this way about their situations when i first played this game. i went with carley anyway because i just liked her a lot, and i thought the same thing as hasan, that she has a gun and i could maybe use that to save doug. but alas.
