I thought Silence Of The Lambs was far better.

Brilliant film form genius filmmaker Michael Mann, based on that awesome novel, gret performance from William Petersen;

this actually looks more artistic than red dragon. i need to watch it. and finding out that william petersen played as will graham before csi is also surprising lol

The synth filled soundtrack is second to none the emotive and infectious overlay of substance much more gravitas than red dragon which follow the same plot line. Pretty close and Brian Cox as Hannibal was also an interesting diversion

This trailer was trash! It doesn't explain what the movie is about, or why you should see it, or even what genre it will be!
Maybe it makes sense if you've already seen the movie, but then why would you need a trailer?

Many people, even dyed in the wool “Manhunter” fans are unaware that there is a version of this which in my humble opinion is absolutely the best and is the “correct” version. It’s what I saw on TV back in the day and it took me years to find. It’s main and critical difference to the others is that the final scene shows Graham driving alone up to the house of the tooth fairy’s intended next victim. The boyfriend opens the door, Graham introduces himself and the girl with a “bloom” invites him in…… he hesitatingly declines stating “I just had to SEE you”. As he says earlier about the tooth fairy “It’s all about SEEING with you, isn’t it my man?!” Graham couldn’t trust himself to go in. Graham is teetering along the razor thin edge between good and evil, between sanity and insanity. As Lecter says earlier “You know how you caught me Will? You caught me because we’re just alike. You want the smell? Smell yourself.” Fellow fans FIND THIS VERSION OF THE FILM.

God I miss the '80s!

I'm today years old and finding out that Silence of the Lambs was not the first introduction of Hannibal Lecter. This music gives off a dopamine drip

One of the best and underrated films in the series and Tom noonan was more creeper than Ralph fiennes as the tooth fairy and I wish they show his tattoo but they deleted it

My favorite movie of all time! Manhunter (1986) paired with Thief (1981) directed by Michael Mann is every movie lovers wet dream. First time I was it when I was a teenage I didn’t like it. Saw it again a few years after when I was sick with the flu and it blew me away.

I just watched this movie and I have to say, red dragon is far superior.

Erie Thriller, that is very different than other 80's work at the time. Before Peterson was C.S.I. he was Will Graham. Very cool. Recommended. [ ]

This is one of my favorite movies of all time. I feel Brian Cox played the Hannibal Lector role the best. He was the original. He would have been great in Silence of the Lambs. This movie is great from beginning to end.

Am I the only one who didn’t know that this was the movie before silence of the lambs?
