Are you going to have a video on how to start Hazelnut trees? Can you start trees from cuttings or just by planting the nut? You got me excited now.
ОтветитьJust bought 25 hazelnut trees. So excited.
ОтветитьThis is great information!
ОтветитьP R O M O S M
ОтветитьFor me this is quality content, thanks!
ОтветитьOkay so your in The Pacific North West. Around Sequim, P.A., Forks, Port Townsend, Silverdale, and Seattle. My Hazel Shrub doesn't have Any Nuts And I was wondering if I could take a Cutting and Propagate another 1 That way, So I could get some Nuts. And if so How?
ОтветитьGreat information. Can i plant two theta hazelnut shrubs (same verities) 15 feet apart on my hobby farm and be good with pollination?
ОтветитьSuperb Very education. I live in the UK had on of these Red leaf variety in the front garden, used to cut it back as it would ground fast and up to about 10-12 foot high. One day a Cypriot friend informed me it's a Hazelnut tree./bush, while pulling a spout from the bush. This post confirmed it's true. I will try and harvest at the right time. Looks like there are about 20 spouts on each branch, with about 12 branches, expect about 240 nuts. Thank you for sharing.
ОтветитьI just planted a larger hazelnut "bush" and they started growing already!! Wanted to see when I'm able to harvest, awesome they flower even in summer!! Great information, thank you!!
ОтветитьLeave some for the wildlife ❤❤❤

ОтветитьHow do you dehusk them?
Ответить👍👍👍
ОтветитьNot even in the Hazel family... We always referred to them as Filbert's here in Oregon. They are harvested around the feast of St. Filibertus... 🧹🐈 🐈⬛🐖
ОтветитьIt is hopeless, the squirrels eat them while they are green. Way before they are edible to humans. They do not care they are wasting immature nuts. Just grab anything before another one can!
ОтветитьI moved to Arizona from Washington and decided to try hazelnuts down here (8b) to see if they will grow. I planted them 3 years ago, pretty sure I bought them from y'all, and so far my trees are about 4ft high and I see my first nuts (although its just one little clutch lol.)
Ответитьhii sir what is your hazelnut orchard elevation from sea level and what is the chilling hour requirement for this variety (please name the variety as well thank you
ОтветитьBrilliant harvesting information thanks.
ОтветитьRecently watched a documentary about ancient peoples, and hazelnut was found to be a staple all across Europe for over 8000 years. Millions of calories would be gathered and they cleared land to grow the bushes.
ОтветитьI managed to nab some large hazelnuts (what I grew up calling filberts) and they were already brown. I thought it was odd that no squirrels had gotten them yet. I wanted to try growing some more trees. But for some reason the seeds inside were not fully developed. I'm bummed. Does make me wonder if the squirrels somehow knew they were bad. lol I figured they had just not finished up with the large English walnut trees.
ОтветитьThank you
Ответитьbest. nut. ever.
ОтветитьI had a squirrel problem.
ОтветитьCan this plant be grown in india ,any state ! We have cold as kashmir or Himalayan states .

ОтветитьThese are my favorites
ОтветитьThank you for the good info!
This is what I wanted to know.
How pollinate one tree.
ОтветитьDo u know if they grow in utah?
ОтветитьThe squirrels eat them well before they are ripe here because the squirrels are starving as they are an invasive species and there is no food source for them here.
Ответитьhave been growing them (several good varieties) for over 12 years, have not harvested a single nut. I noticed two problems: 1. most are empty nuts, 2. birds and squirrels get everything.
Any suggestions regarding empty nuts? Eva
