Depends what you are going too clean
ОтветитьPS- 1/2 to 1/2 vinegar and water plus 1-2 drops of dawn works great on glass, etc.
ОтветитьThanks. Also, never mix both and use on chrome. It will pit the surface and you can't buff that out. I'm talking from experience, FYI.
ОтветитьCan you use baking soda on the silver grab bars in a shower?
ОтветитьI cleaned my slower glass door using your process... It looks like a brand new one!! Thanks!!!
ОтветитьI wonder what a salt made from an organic acid and a base is called? hmm🤔 could it be s**p.
Ответитьadd salt with the 2 . or dawn dish soap. See you fail at this part. When it works people dont care about the why,
ОтветитьI never have understood why some people say to mix them. Like someone had to have started the idea. That someone must have been bad at chemistry.
ОтветитьMixing the two does work. It got slime out of my carpet. I don’t know the science behind it, but it works.
ОтветитьThank you
Ответитьthanks a lot
ОтветитьThanks for this man. So many "cleaning experts" on tiktok simply don't remember basic high school chemistry
ОтветитьCan you combine vinegar with aja
ОтветитьThis "hack" is all over the internet and people seemingly swear by it, showing beir before and afters. But you would have gotten the same result if you'd just used water and a little salt. I've tried cleaning my oven with baking soda and vinegar - it really didn't do much.
ОтветитьThey neutralise the space though, together, its not just about looks, and killing viruses, its about an environment.
ОтветитьI have been told by the septic people to pour baking soda down the drain, followed by vinegar. Wait about 30 minutes and then follow with lots of hot water. Any thoughts on this. When you have septic or hard water, there are issues.
ОтветитьIn some mixtures the combination is meant to create a foaming action that does things like, for example, help product cling to a vertical surface. But for most things having unfresh vinegar and soda is pointless, I agree.
ОтветитьI’ve tried them separately!! With multiple different soaking times and brushes and I still can’t get my shower door clean!
ОтветитьJust looked at a Martha Stewart blog that mentioned mixing the two! I thought she (and her staff) would know better!
ОтветитьAdd bleach to every cleaner is the way vinegar kill most germs.
ОтветитьA cap of bleach with vinegar and baking soda 👌🏾
Ответитьcan you use baking soda on laundry by itself as well.?
ОтветитьExactly! So tired of seeing misinformation, thanks for setting the record straight. Vinegar and baking soda are pH opposites, and cancel each other out. Separately, they're really useful.
ОтветитьMix baking soda and vinegar is hazardous if you breathe the fumes. You may need to see your physician. The vapour is very bad for your eyes and lungs and may even kill you if not well ventilated
ОтветитьAnd if you scrub something with baking soda and can't get all the baking soda residue off, vinegar will remove it, no problem!
ОтветитьYou don't mix both first. You first put the baking soda on the dirty surface and scrub the loose diry and then pour or spray vinegar on the baking soda. It will start reacting and the effervescence will lift away the remaining dirty. Then you rinse the whole thing and you are left with a clean surface. Also if there are groove and you can't brush the dirt out, put the baking soda in the grooves and pour vinegar on top of it. And voila, all the dirt will be lifted out by the bubbles and you can just rinse the whole thing out..
ОтветитьThank you!! 🎉❤👍 This drives me crazy when i see it. What's really great for calcium, lime, and especially rust is citric acid. It is super cheap to get a big bag delivered. Probably one of the reasons people are always cleaning with lemon juice, but with the powder you can make it so much less messy and way more potent.
ОтветитьHahaha that makes sense why sometimes it doesn't work for me...
ОтветитьI've cleared clogged pipes with baking soda and vinegar.
ОтветитьI have two spray bottles, an alkaline one which has water, isopropyl alcohol and two small drops of dish soap. The other is acidic and has vinegar, lemon juice and water.
The acid tackles hard stains like limescale, the alkaline tackles soft stains like soap scum
I never got anything to work on my tile grout. I’ve tried baking sod with hydrogen peroxide, bar keepers friend, oxygen bleach and finally zep. Every single one left residue no mater how much I rinsed. It’s driving me crazy why nothing has worked! But what about cleaning drains? It’s always been baking soda with vinegar then boilingwater half an hour later?

ОтветитьThanks for the😊 tip !
ОтветитьYou are wrong. I
You need the reaction to soften things especially burnt particles
We are not bothered about the end product. I have tried using only vinegar and only baking dida on my burnt vessel. Thete was no impact , improvement or change
I've only seen it recommended to mix them for clearing drains, where you want that reaction to agitate the clog.
Ответитьwhat would you suggest for the drains on bathroom sinks for smell i usually use the baking soda and vinager!! one on top of the other and wait before addering hot water!!thanks
ОтветитьGreat advise
ОтветитьTotally agree !!!!👍🏻
ОтветитьI like to mix because I like the smell :)
Ответитьtrue
ОтветитьLikewise, for fighting mold/mildew; baking soda is alkaline, which is effective. Vinegar is acidic, which is effective. Together, they neutralize each other and do a whole lotta nothing.
ОтветитьYeah I bought a big tank of vinegar for cleaning months ago, in two applications got rid of more like scale than months of “lime scale remover”
ОтветитьI use them together only for cleaning my sewer pipes! It really takes care of the grime down there. Just one part soda and 2 parts vinegar down the hatch! Soda first of course.
ОтветитьIt is???… never heard of it
ОтветитьYou're meant to rub the baking soda in, let it set and then use the vinegar to dissolve the baking soda and anything it's attached itself to will lift up as well. Of course the trick doesn't work if you don't use it right.
ОтветитьThe Spruce ran a cleaning tip a bit back saying that in certain situations mixing the two is the easiest way to increase the carbon dioxide in the environment. My dad (studied chemistry and worked in insurance) confirmed that large quantities of CO2 are used in certain commercial cleaning tasks. Does mixing the two create enough CO2 to actually have any effect in domestic cleaning?
ОтветитьVinegar did not touch my hard water stains on glass shower doors-even after letting it sit.
ОтветитьYes, when you are cleaning you use an acid or a base. You never use both.
ОтветитьThank you for that info!
ОтветитьNo quite true. Takes good care of scale in toilet when hot vinegar is mixed with soda
