There is a paleontoligical theory as to the extinction of the north american horse at end of ice age. Tsetse flies became extinct on the American continent at some point in time from fossil record. Horses evolved in the Americas and reverse migrated across "Beringia" Straight to Asian continent and then on to Africa. Of course its a just a theory!?

Sounds like they need to do with the tsetse fly what the US does with the bot fly. We raise and then sterilize with radiation millions of male bot flies and then release them into the wild. The females that they mate with do not reproduce.
