I live in the Virginia side of the Appalachian Mountains. This episode traumatized me lol. I wasn't a kid and it was STILL terrifying! You hear stories about people living like this, deep in the mountains and OMG. Lol

I think I was 18 or 19 when I first saw this episode. I absolutely loved it! I was obsessed with the X files and David. 😊 Thanks for reminding me about it! ❤

It's called Contrapuntal music when you use music that has the opposite mood to what's being displayed visually to exaggerate the effect.

It works both ways too, there's examples like A Clockwork Orange where Alex sings singing in the rain while he beats and rapes someone, but it can also be used for comedic effect if you wanted to show someone overreacting to something innocent by overlaying dramatic music. Like someone homophobic clutching their pearls at a pride parade overlaid with Verdi's Requiem.

"the first watch of how i met your mother". lol, as if there will be a 2nd viewing after the finale. The finale was so insulting I can't even watch the show at all without getting pissed off. It's just a massive middle finger.
